August 08, 2010 - What A Dump

Greetings, strangers.

MOPNT's webhost recently went out of business, which meant I had 2 choices: Let the site go offline, or actually blow the dust off and see what could be salvaged. I opted for the latter.
I signed up for a new host, and as I dug through broken page after broken page, it occurred to me what a disaster this site has become. I'm truly sorry. To be honest, MOPNT was a guinea pig for this amateur web designer and programmer to play, learn, and grow, while honoring a show that I truly loved. However, in the advent of wikis and blogs, I became less sure of how my site fit into the new web.

Add on top of this the show's switch to ABC, a network not served in my market, which forced me to try to keep up with episodes online. With a rather slow DSL connection, I didn't keep up with it very well.

I somewhat feel like, because I quit clapping, Tinkerbell died. I do sincerely wish I could have carried MOPNT over the finish line with the show, but you know what they say: "Life is what happens while you're making other plans."

I've never been very good at speculating the future. Even when it came to this site. All I can say is that I will try to clean out the cobwebs and scare off the bugs and 404s, in an effort to polish MOPNT up to be a worthy archival tribute to one of the best shows to air on network television.

June 22, 2008 - MOPNT's State

I've begun propping MOPNT back up on its feet. Server issues are still being worked through, but at least most of the pages are accessible. The Music list finally has info for all of S7.

As stated during the outage: Real Life has been very hard on your dear ol' webmaster for, like, six -- scratch that -- eight months. Hence the lack of recent updates. Also hence all the unanswered emails. I'm so sorry about that. I have no intention of abandoning the site. Real life continues to be beaten into submission during this early part of the summer. I'm really hoping to get things brought up to speed so regular updates can resume, hopefully well in time for the Winter relaunch on ABC.
Please stay tuned, and thank you for your patience.

May 14, 2007 - NBC Saves Scrubs

As rumored, NBC officially announced today that it will be keeping Scrubs for its 7th and final season, with a limited order of 18 episodes. The show is on the network's Fall schedule, likely returning sometime in October, to air Thursdays at 9:30 PM (E/P). Because of the shortened run, the series will probably wrap up early, in the winter, making room for one of the net's midseason replacements.

May 11, 2007 - Grapevine Buzzing About Scrubs Renewal

The NBC Advertiser Upfronts, where the network formally announces its Fall plans, are to be held this Monday, May 14th. But rumors are already leaking to various reputable news outlets that Scrubs will be picked up by the Peacock for a seventh and final season, with an abbreviated order of 18 episodes.

Due to the nearness of the Upfronts, we would be very surprised if this did not pan out.

This is great news considering Season Six's ratings dip and the inflated pricetag of another season (thus explaining the shortened episode order), which was reportedly not only threatening the show's future on NBC, but was also supposedly dampening the interests of potential adoptive network ABC as well.

May 11, 2007 - Hour-Long Season Finale

Well, kind of.... NBC will be doubling up the last two episodes of Season Six, "My Rabbit" and "My Point of No Return" next week, Thursday May 17th, to equal an hour of new Scrubs, airing from 9:00-10:00 PM (E/P).

The following week will be a rerun of acclaimed episode "My Musical."

April 09, 2007 - Scrubs Moves to 9:30 (Eas/Pac)

In an effort to boost 30 Rock's ratings, NBC has decided to try it out in Scrubs' regular timeslot -- 9:00 PM -- for the next several weeks. Tune in for Scrubs a half hour later at 9:30 PM (8:30 Central).

March 25, 2007 - "My Long Goodbye" Supersized

The next Scrubs episode, April 5th's "My Long Goodbye," will be part of NBC's special "Supersized Thursday" block, which may mean a minute or two extra episode and unfortunately a lot more extra advertisements. Because of this, none of the schedules seem to agree on when the episode will actually start -- we've seen everything from 9:15p to 9:20p to 9:25p (E/P), and anticipated runtimes anywhere between 35-45 minutes. If you're planning on videotaping the episode, or trying to catch it live, you may be best off to tune in at the show's regular time -- 9p -- and wait for it.

March 25, 2007 - Season Five on DVD

The set is reported to feature an extended director's cut of "My Way Home," a look back at five seasons, deleted scenes and outtakes, plus unconfirmed audio commentaries and a special animated episode. It will be available this May, as follows:

  • Region 1 - May 22nd.
  • Region 2 - May 21st.
  • Region 4 - May 23rd.

You can preorder now.

January 11, 2007 - Zach Braff Appearances

See if Zach wins a Golden Globe this Monday (January 15 on NBC). The following Wednesday (early Thurs., Jan. 17), both Zach and Donald Faison will guest on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live. (That same night, over on NBC's Carson Daly, Braff pal and Scrubs fave Josh Radin will perform.) Then, on Friday (early Sat., Jan 19), Zach will also be on Carson Daly's show.

November 30, 2006 - MOPNT Thawing Out

Many apologies for the lack of updates. Several factors required the site be put on ice for the summer, but we're hoping to get things working on all cylinders again soon. Thanks for your patience and continued loyalty!

November 09, 2006 - NBC Gifts Fans with New Episodes in November

While most of us thought it might not happen until January (as was the case with Season Five), NBC recently announced that Scrubs will be returning with new episodes for its 6th season in the Thursday 9:00p slot, starting on November 30.

May 15, 2006 - Season Six a Go - on NBC

Maybe it was the pressure from ABC -- the net's entertainment president Steve McPherson had indicated interest in picking up Scrubs if NBC passed -- or maybe it was NBC's continued dearth of successful comedies. Or maybe, just maybe, attention-catching episodes and a concentrated late-season run allowed Scrubs to prove its worth this year. Whatever it was, despite already planning a packed Fall schedule, NBC announced today at the advertiser upfronts that they are committed to our show for another year.

Because of that full Fall schedule, S6's fate looks like a lot like that for S5 -- with no scheduled debut for the 22-episode run. However, if a gap doesn't suddenly open sooner, we are at least guaranteed to see new eps by midseason (January-ish), which is when NBC newcomer Sunday Night Football concludes for the year.

March 28, 2006 - Scrubs on iTunes!

A couple weeks ago, Variety reported that NBC and Touchstone were in the middle of hammering out a landmark deal to make Scrubs available for download via Apple's popular iTunes, with the two opposing companies agreeing to split the profits 50-50. Well, the deal must have gone through, because as of tonight, you can now download all of Season Five for just a couple bucks an episode!

If you don't have a Nielsen box, this is a great way to show your support for the show. And if you put the eps on your iPod, it's also a great way to share the Scrubs love with others!
