May 02, 2004 - The Blanks are Here

You all have been going crazy over the songs performed by Ted the Lawyer and his Band (Sam Lloyd's actual a cappella group The Blanks), and now the long-promised CD has arrived! Featuring all the numbers heard on Scrubs as well as many others, also appearances by the cast and creator of the show.

A must for any fan!

April 22, 2004 - Behind "My Fault"

Just a reminder that a fan had the opportunity to have a walk-on part in tonight's special episode, "My Fault." You can read all about his experience in the extensive article he's written, complete with pictures and other goodies. Watch for him tonight!

April 15, 2004 - Double Scrubs Next Week

We will be getting two new Scrubs episodes next week -- one on the regular night, Tuesday, April 20th, and the other on a special night, Thursday, April 22nd.

April 15, 2004 - MOPNT Has Returned

As is usually the case, the server troubles were caused by a unique circumstance which has been worked out. Much gratitude to Greg for looking out for the site. Come on, now, everyone together: "Thanks, Greg!"

I also want to thank you guys for your patience, and for remaining loyal to the site. Scrubs fans are awesome...but if I do say so myself, MOPNT fans are the absolute best!

March 27, 2004 - Season Four

Not that there was any doubt, but at a pre-upfront meeting with advertisers this week (the official upfronts are scheduled for May), NBC announced its early plans for Fall, and Scrubs is on the schedule. The surprise is in the fact that the show is remaining in its current timeslot -- Tuesday at 9:30 PM (ET/PT) -- rather than moving up to tentpole an hour. Instead, the entire rest of the night is up for grabs, possibly going to brand new series.

NBC plans to roll out its Fall 2004 TV season early, right on the tail of the Summer Olympics, in order to take advantage of that expanded audience.

March 27, 2004 - Keren Hits Stores

If you've been putting off ordering Keren DeBerg's heavily-featured debut album, gone, you've just run out of excuses. The CD is now available nation-wide at Tower Records, Virgin Records, and Borders locations. For the agoraphobes, you can order the CD online at a variety of retailers: CDbaby, Tower Online, Amazon.com, and Barnes and Noble.

March 21, 2004 - More on DVD Rumor

In a follow-up interview with Natalie Portman fan site "America's Queen" (how come they can get multiple interviews and I can't even get one?), Zach Braff elucidates his earlier DVD hint of "soon" by saying, "Fans should expect a DVD of Scrubs later this year."

March 18, 2004 - Scrubs Gang Gets Dirty

U.K. television's Channel Four has come out with a new installment of their advertising campaign, where different stars of the programs they air (both British-made and imports) share their favorite things. This time, it's their favorite dirty words. Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes, Ken Jenkins, and Zach Braff appear in the clip which is currently only showing in cinemas across the pond.

For the rest of us, the clip can be viewed online. (Viewer discretion is strongly advised.)

March 17, 2004 - Scrubs Gang Branching Out

Neil Flynn recently joined the voice cast of a pilot for an animated comedy series about the life of radio personality Phil Hendrie for FOX.

Christa Miller Lawrence just signed on to play opposite Andrew Kennedy as the heads of a "blended family" in a comedy pilot for CBS.

March 1, 2004 - DVD Rumor

In a Natalie Portman fan site interview mainly focusing on his new film, Garden State, Zach Braff answers the DVD question with, "Scrubs will be released on DVD very soon."

While "very soon" can be an incredibly elastic term, this should still give plenty of fans some hope. And as soon as DVD plans are officially announced, you can be sure to hear about it here, and just about everywhere.

February 16, 2004 - Feb 17th is Super-Sized

It has been confirmed that this week's episode, "My Porcelain God", the conclusion of guest star Michael J. Fox 's stint, will be super-sized to 40 minutes, again starting at 9:20 PM (8:20C).

February 15, 2004 - Scrubs a Winner on Tuesdays

Even though the number of total viewers is smaller than on Thursdays, NBC is thrilled with the percentage of the TV viewing audience tuning into Scrubs on Tuesday night. The series' return to its old time slot scored the network's highest rating in that time period's 18-49 demographic in three months, and was able to retain 100% of that demo from its lead-in, Frasier (a feat not seen since a special episode of The Weakest Link followed a new Frasier in April, 2001).

Bolstered by its special guest star, last week's episode posted a higher number of total viewers and an even higher percentage of viewers 18-49, beating all competition in the time slot.

Releases from NBC: For Feb. 3... ...For Feb. 10

January 30, 2004 - Super-Size Heads-Up

The first episode with guest star Michael J. Fox , "My Catalyst", scheduled for Tuesday February 10, will be supersized to 40 minutes, which means it'll start at 9:20 PM (8:20C)

Rumor has it that the following episode, "My Porcelain God", will also be supersized, but that has yet to be confirmed. And, of course, these air dates/times are incredibly vulnerable to change.

Update: January 30, 2004 - Guest Star Talk Show News

Michael J. Fox will appear on NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien on Wednesday (early Thurs.), February 11, when the show goes on the road to Toronto, Canada.

January 23, 2004 - What The Hell is Going On

It's likely that not even NBC knows what's going on. One thing they're sure of, though (for now), is that The Apprentice now lives on Thursdays at 9/8C.

What that means for us is that Scrubs' next episode, "My Clean Break" will be on Tuesday, February 3, at 9:30 PM (8:30 C), following Frasier.

Beyond that? Well, it seems that Scrubs MAY stay put on Tuesdays for a while. We hope.

January 23, 2004 - More Awards Snubbery

Once again Sex and the City beat out Scrubs for an award, this time from the Producers Guild of America. More snubbing came from the Writers Guild of America and the Directors Guild of America, neither of which gave Scrubs a nomination.

January 17, 2004 - Awards Season

The Hollywood Foreign Press and the Screen Actors Guild overlooked Scrubs (shock), as did Joe and Jane Q. Public if you believe The People's Choice Awards, but the Producers Guild of America has come through in nominating our Bill Lawrence and Randall Winston for the Danny Thomas Producer of the Year Award in Episodic Television - Comedy. The awards ceremony will be held tonight, January 17. Congrats to Bill and Randall; good luck!

January 12, 2004 - "My Rule of Thumb" Bumped...Again

Last time it was for a good reason -- they showed "My Dirty Secret" in its place. This time, it's to show another episode of The Apprentice. I shall not comment, I shall not rant, I shall not curse the darlings at NBC.... I shall also not be watching The Apprentice again.

"Rule of Thumb" is rescheduled for Thursday, January 22, hopefully of this year.

January 05, 2004 - Guest Star for February Sweeps

Michael J. Fox's two-episode arc as a "superdoc" with obsessive-compulsive disorder begins filming this week.

Zach's big writing, directing and starring project, Garden State (formerly Large's Ark), co-starring Natalie Portman, exec-produced by Danny DeVito, with music by Lazlo Bane's Chad Fischer, will screen at January's Sundance Film Festival.

Zach has also been cast as the voice of the now-male title character in Disney's upcoming CGI-animated flick Chicken Little, to be released in 2005.

December 12, 2003 - USPS Goes Postal over MADtv Sketch

Postal workers are calling for the removal of a skit featuring this week's guest, John C. McGinley, in which "disgruntled postal workers [are] at odds with one another over who has the right to go on a shooting spree first."

FOX and MADtv stand behind the skit as satire.

December 05, 2003 - "My Dirty Secret" -- THIS WEEK

I was reticent to post until all listings changed to reflect this news: At last, after a forever long wait, the "lost episode", #3.03, "My Dirty Secret" will air on NBC this Thursday, December 11, in the special 9:30 PM (ET/PT) slot.

Oddly, the episode will not air in the place of a scheduled repeat, but will bump the new episode, #3.10 "My Rule of Thumb".

November 20, 2003 - More Keren

If you just can't get enough of oft-featured music artist Keren DeBerg, you can hear the track "Timing's Off" from her new album on NBC's Miss Match tomorrow at 9 (ET/PT).

Also, unless her scene gets cut, we should be able to actually see Keren on an upcoming episode of Scrubs in the following weeks. She'll be one of the singing nurses in a crazy fantasy sequence.

If you have no idea what Keren is all about, getting her debut CD will soon be a helluva lot easier -- her Big Pea & Dime Music label signed up with a national distributor to release her album, 'gone', to stores in January 2004. If you can't wait, you can still order the disc from CDbaby.com

November 14, 2003 - Talk Show News

Zach Braff was bumped without reschedule (for now) from The Wayne Brady Show, but Sarah Chalke's appearance on Sharon Osbourne's chat show has been rescheduled for Tuesday, November 18th. Check your local listings for airtimes.

November 07, 2003 - Comedy Central's Commie Awards

This should have been posted much earlier, but you still have time to cast your vote for Scrubs in the "Funniest Live-Action Series"... and ..."Funniest Smart Ass" (John C. McGinley) categories!

Be sure to see who wins on Dec. 7 @ 9 PM (ET/PT) on Comedy Central.

November 04, 2003 - Special Time This Month

Not only is Scrubs moving to 9:30 (ET/PT) for Sweeps, but I'm also hearing rumors that the start times may be all over the place. If you're going to depend on an automatic recorder, you might want to set it to start at around 9:20 (ET/PT) to be on the safe side. I'm fairly certain 10 minutes of Will & Grace never hurt anybody.

October 26, 2003 - This Week is Super-Sized

This week's episode, 3.05 "My Lucky Night", is part of NBC's October 30th "Super-Sized Thursday". To accommodate the 40-minute episodes of Friends, Will & Grace, and Scrubs, the schedule for the night will run in that exact order, with Scrubs airing from 9:20 to 10 PM.

As always, set your TiVos, your VCRs, and whatever else, as we never know if these extra-long episodes will ever be repeated in their entirety.

October 25, 2003 - Fred "Rerun" Berry Passes Away

The star of one of J.D. and Turk's favorite T.V. shows, who had a cameo appearance in last season's "My Drama Queen", Fred "Rerun" Berry of the '70's What's Happening!! passed away in his sleep earlier this week of apparently natural causes. He was 52.

Come on everybody: Right hand, left hand, shoulder-pop, jump!

Remembering 'Rerun'...

October 21, 2003 - "My Dirty Secret" in Limbo

NBC seems to be promoting Episode 4, "My White Whale" for this Thursday, the 23rd. A number of publications covering the baseball screw around conveyed that our missed episodes would pick up where they left off, which TVguide.com is supporting by listing "My Dirty Secret" for this week, but NBC obviously has other plans. Everyone's keeping their ears to the ground on this one, but it seems we've entered an era where we can't really know for sure which episode we're going to see until it actually hits the airwaves. Stay sane, folks.

October 21, 2003 - Lawrence Sells Soul to NBC

Big winky face here! I love Zucker and his minio-- er, those big lugs at the National Broadcasting Company! Why? Because they (finally) see Bill Lawrence for the genius that he is and have nabbed him in a huge development deal. Lawrence has signed a 4-year commitment to the network to (a) continue to oversee Scrubs, (b) develop new series for the peacock, and (c) supervise other, up-and-coming writers. At a reported $12 million, I think the net's getting more than its money's worth.

October 16, 2003 - Baseball = Reruns ... Maybe

In an attempt to solidify themselves in the minds of the public as the Network of Britches Crappers, NBC has gone into panic mode up against FOX baseball and will more than likely shift their schedule to reruns tonight. Maybe they'll change their mind at the last minute...maybe your affiliate will show the episode...or maybe you'll get lucky and nab yourself a copy of "My Dirty Secret" which is floating around on the internet.

October 09, 2003 - Talk Show Appearances

Really short notice, but Donald Faison will be on Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC) Friday (tomorrow, Oct. 10) night. Check your listings for airtimes.

Also, Judy Reyes will be on The Wayne Brady Show (syndicated) next Thursday, October 16.

Talk Show Line-Ups

October 06, 2003 - Get Keren

Those familiar with the music used on Scrubs, even the tracks used in the background, are probably familiar with the name Keren DeBerg, but probably don't know her music quite as well as they would like. DeBerg, who has been described as a mix of Pat Benatar ("Dude, she rocks"), Gwen Stefani and Shirley Manson, has finally released her long-promised full-length debut album, titled 'gone'. With 11 songs, 7 of which have been featured on the show, the CD is sure to be a worthwhile addition to any Scrubs fan's music collection.

September 30, 2003 - Welcome to MOPNT

That's "My Own Personal 'Net Thing" -- a slightly Scrubsy domain serving as the new home for my little devotion previously known as "My Fansite". The site should work pretty much the same as always, save for the new name and minor re-organization. Hopefully it will prove to be enjoyable to both new and loyal visitors alike.

You can contact me with any issues, or drop a few words of praise in the new guestbook.

September 27, 2003 - Robert Palmer

The sharply-dressed singer, whose "Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor)" graced this past season's "My First Step", passed away in Paris of a heart-attack at the young age of 54.

September 20, 2003 - John Ritter was Due to Return to Scrubs

Shooting of an episode featuring the returns of Ritter as J.D.'s dad and Tom Cavanagh as J.D.'s brother was to begin Monday, September 15. Zach Braff told 'Extra', "It's the ultimate example of 'the show must go on.' No one wants to be here working. Everyone is kind of in a daze."
