Always make sure you check the home page for the latest Scrubs news.

April 21, 2005 - Rochester, NY, Special Airing

Due to NBC's recent schedule changes, fans in the Rochester area who depend on News 10 NBC to see Scrubs every week were left out in the cold last Tuesday when an episode of a program called Floyd The Food Guy aired at 9 PM.

Angry fans called their affiliate to complain, and have reported that the missed episode, "My Faith In Humanity," will air this Saturday, April 23rd @ 3:30 PM on News 10 NBC.

April 21, 2005 - Updated: Catch Sarah While You Can

Unfortunately, just as it's begun, Sarah Chalke's run in the off-broadway play Modern Orthodox will come to an abrupt end when the show closes on May 8th. Play promoters were in the process of setting up a ticket discount and special evening for Scrubs fans when this news hit and have been scrambling to make at least part of that happen for those interested in attending.

For a reduced price on tickets to Modern Orthodox at the Dodger Stages in New York, go to BroadwayOffers.com and enter code: MD244NW

Enjoy the show!

April 20, 2005 - DVD - Pick the Ad, Win a Set

Buena Vista Home Entertainment is in full promotional mode for the Scrubs Season One DVD, set to be released May 17th. With the help of Hypemakers.net, they're asking us, the fans, to pick which T.V. spot should represent our beloved show. In return for participation, there's a chance to win a free set instantly. Several streaming video formats are available. The survey closes April 30th.

April 16, 2005 - Bid For a Cure

Scrubs has donated a cast-signed scrub top to the Bid For A Cure Breast Cancer Celebrity Charity Auction for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Bidding on many donated items opens at eBay today, Saturday April 16th.

April 14, 2005 - Schedule Update

Though next Tuesday, April 19, was originally scheduled to air repeats of "My Malpractical Decision" and "My Female Trouble," NBC has updated its schedule to air the next new episode, "My Faith In Humanity," on that night instead.

Consequently, on the 26th, another new episode is currently scheduled to air -- "My Drive-By."

Note that this change also brings an end to the 8:30 lead-in repeats.

April 08, 2005 - Big Change at Season End

In the T.V. Guide article last month, mentioning Zach Braff's cameo appearance on Arrested Development (which airs this week, Sunday April 10th, on FOX), a hint was dropped about a big season-ending surprise that "changes everything," according to Bill Lawrence. "I don't wanna ruin the surprise, but it basically affects the dynamic of Carla, Turk, Elliot and J.D."

Well, Zap2It is now reporting that, in the spirit of realism, the end of the season will bring one of the "main group" a ticket out of Sacred Heart. Internet chatter is abuzz with speculation about "who's leaving Scrubs?" but it should be noted that while the article does give that impression with its headline, "Someone's Checking Out of 'Scrubs'," there have been no industry rumblings of unhappy cast members, and the coy quotes from Bill Lawrence give the implication that this is a plot evolution: "Because of the way they progress from intern to resident, people would have to go out and get new jobs and not always at the hospital they work in." It doesn't necessarily mean an actor is leaving the show.

Still, we'll certainly all be glued to our sets on Tuesday nights to see how this unfolds.

April 08, 2005 - Big B-Day for ZB

Belated birthday wishes to Zach Braff, who turned the Big 3-0 on April 6th.

March 29, 2005 - Guest Star News

During an interview with the U.K.'s T4, Friends's James Michael Tyler (Gunther) announced that this week he is filming an appearance on Scrubs as a marriage counselor. Draw from that whatever plot conclusions you will. More info will come as it's available.

March 25, 2005 - Double Scrubs Thru April

Last week's double billing of S3 repeats "My Catalyst" and "My Porcelain God" was the beginning of a trend for NBC, for the next few weeks at least (and barring any sudden changing of their minds) -- we can expect each new episode to be preceded by a rerun episode in the 8:30 (E/P) timeslot through most of April.

  • March 29: "My Cake" (8:30, repeat) - "My Boss's Free Haircut" (9:00, new)
  • April 05: "My Common Enemy" (8:30, repeat) - "My Lips Are Sealed" (9:00, new)
  • April 12: "My Last Chance" (8:30, repeat) - "My Big Move" (9:00, new)
In each case, the night will be kicked off at 8 PM (E/P) by a repeat episode of Will & Grace.

March 25, 2005 - Guest Star News

March 25, 2005 - The Blanks Live

If New York is too far to travel to see Sarah in a play, perhaps the L.A. area is more convenient for you, and you can check out The Blanks, AKA Ted's Band, The Worthless Peons, live at The M Bar on April 6th.

March 25, 2005 - Other Projects: Sarah Chalke

Beginning April 12th, Sarah Chalke will fill the role of Hannah, recently vacated by Molly Ringwald ("God bless Molly Ringwald..."), in the off-Broadway comedy Modern Orthodox at the Dodger Stages.
In film news, Sarah will appear with recurring Scrubs guest Tom Cavanagh in Alchemy, set to be released this year, and will also be seen with recent Scrubs guest Heather Graham in Nisha Ganatra's Cake, which is currently still in production.

March 21, 2005 - Other Projects: Zach Braff

In the latest post to his blog, Zach Braff says that the Fletch Won news is indeed news to him, but "I'm a huge Fletch fan and a huge Kevin Smith fan, so maybe when the time comes he'll really want me and I'll be available to do it."

In the meantime, Zach is keeping himself busy by directing a music video for Gavin DeGraw, preparing to shoot the film The Last Kiss with Jacinda Barrett (who replaces Rachel McAdams), and has shot a cameo appearance in the pilot episode of the Bill Lawrence/Garrett Donovan/Neil Goldman WB sitcom Nobody's Watching, where he plays himself.

Also, Zach can be heard as the eponymous Chicken Little in Disney's upcoming CG animated flick to be released this fall.

March 17, 2005 - Braff Gets Punk'd

Donald Faison will be pranking his buddy Zach on this week's installment of the MTV series Punk'd, airing Sunday, March 20th @ 10 PM (E/P).

March 09, 2005 - S4 Episode Order Extended

Christmas comes early for Scrubs fans this year -- spring is the season that just keeps on giving. Not only are the Season One DVDs finally being released, but TV Guide is reporting that NBC has ordered an additional three episodes beyond the 22-episode standard. That means a total of 25 episodes of Scrubsy goodness this season, pushing the season finale to coincide with the DVD release on May 17th.
NBC has reportedly extended its order for Joey as well, so it's assumed the network's generosity stems from a need to make up for the early season start last August in order to stay competitive through May Sweeps.

March 02, 2005 - Other Projects / Guest Star News

Zach Braff recently filmed a cameo appearance for FOX's Arrested Development, an episode scheduled to air in April. According to the February 26th edition of TV Guide, for fair trade Bill Lawrence is hoping to get Arrested star and Braff pal Jason Bateman on Scrubs before season's end.

March 02, 2005 - Other Projects: Braff as Fletch?

Film-maker Kevin Smith (Clerks), who's set to helm an upcoming "prequel" of the '80s Fletch films -- Fletch Won -- recently dropped a major hint on the message board of his website that the star he has his sights set on to fill Chevy Chase's shoes as the title character is none other than our Zach Braff. There have been no official announcements, nor even confirmation of interest from Braff, but more concrete word should start trickling in soon.

March 02, 2005 - Other Projects: Garden State Keeps Racking 'Em Up

Congratulations to Zach Braff, whose indie hit recently nabbed honors at the Independent Spirit Awards for Best First Feature, and a Grammy for Best Compilation Soundtrack.

March 01, 2005 - "My Best Laid Plans"

Zach Braff takes another stab at directing tonight, his previous work having been seen earlier this season in "My Last Chance." Coincidentally, Heather Graham returns for tonight's episode.

February 12, 2005 - Guest Star News

The producers have finally found a way to work Spin City's Michael Boatman into an episode, "My Roommates," to air February 22nd.

January 24, 2005 - Reports from the Live Audience

Several fans have checked into the message boards to tell about their experience at the live studio filming of "My Life in Four Cameras." Cast and crew were apparently very gracious hosts, passing out food and drink to audience members, with warm-up entertainment provided by Scrubs favorite Colin Hay and Sam Lloyd's a cappella group The Blanks, though neither were reportedly featured in that portion of the episode.

January 24, 2005 - DVD Details

Buena Vista have announced some details of the Season One DVD set to be released May 17th, along with a sneak peek at the cover art. According to the release, there will be "a host of great bonus features including some never-before-seen dream sequences and a fascinating retrospective documentary." Mmkay.

January 24, 2005 - More Guest Stars

In addition to this week's appearance by Colin Farrell, we can also expect the return of Tara Reid as Danni in "My Quarantine" and Clay Aiken in "sitcom" episode "My Life in Four Cameras."

January 23, 2005 - Awards Season Bust

Rather than stretch the bad news out, I've saved it up to deliver in one depressing lump: Scrubs missed out on every recent award it was up for -- People's Choice (Favorite Show and Favorite Actor, Zach Braff), Golden Globe (Comedy Series Actor, Zach Braff), and the Producer's Guild Award.

No, I don't get it either.

January 20, 2005 - Scrubs Goes Sitcomy

A few fans in the L.A. area are in for a treat. Those observant enough to catch a KNBC crawl during last Tuesday's episode, "My Ocardial Infarction," who were lucky enough to enter the station's very limited contest (or those who knew where to go to bid on a tsunami relief charity auction), will be attending a live taping this Friday, January 21st, of upcoming episode "My Life in Four Cameras." Though Scrubs is typically shot in single-camera format, with no live audience, in the former North Hollywood Medical Center, this unique episode, which will air during February Sweeps, will feature several fantasy sequences incorporating the traditional, multi-camera sitcom format.

Have fun, guys! We look forward to hearing about your experience!

January 19, 2005 - DVD -- No Longer Just Rumor

Though Buena Vista has yet to pipe up with any big announcements or promotion, the 'net is abuzz with news of Amazon.com's recent update to its Scrubs DVD listing: As rumored since last September, the four-disc Season One set is finally scheduled to be released on May 17th, 2005. It is currently unknown whether all of the original music will survive and which extras are included.

You can pre-order your set (note that these are Region 1) now at various e-tailers.

January 18, 2005 - Other Projects: Reyes Goes Indie

Judy Reyes is currently shooting two independent films: Dirty, with Cuba Gooding Jr. and Clifton Collins Jr., where she'll play an Internal Affairs officer for an LAPD precinct that's been hit by scandal; and Glow Ropes: The Rise and Fall of a Bar Mitzvah Emcee, inspired by the film's writer-director-star, former bar mitzvah dancer George Valencia's own experiences, in which Reyes, who is friends with Valencia, will play a party planner. Reyes also serves as one of the film's producers.

January 07, 2005 - Awards Update

You all already know about the recent Golden Globe nomination of Zach Braff for Actor in a Comedy Series (the awards presentation will air January 16th on NBC).

In addition to that, and the People's Choice awards Scrubs and Zach are up for (that ceremony will be broadcast January 9th on CBS), Scrubs has also again been nominated for a Producer's Guild Award. We wish the producers the best of luck at the event, to be held January 22nd.

December 16, 2004 - "Mac-Daddy Guest Star" Confirmed

Colin Farrell has been confirmed by NBC for a one-episode guest stint, to air January 25th.

December 07, 2004 - "Awesome, Super-Secret, Mac-Daddy Guest Star"

That's what Zach called him in a recent post to his blog. Braff, who's reportedly friends with the star, was the one to convince him to drop in for the one-episode stint.

Who is it? Both Judy Reyes and Sarah Chalke have told a couple of entertainment gossip columns that it's Colin Farrell -- whose mother is apparently a huge fan of the show.

The episode is scheduled to air sometime in January.

December 07, 2004 - Lawrence Adds Another Iron to the Fire

Just a few weeks ago, Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence had two other projects picked up -- Nobody's Watching, being developed with Neil Goldman & Garrett Donovan, and a show for comedian Brian Regan, being developed with Tim Hobert.

Now, he's going in with Eric Weinberg on Confessions of a Dog for NBC -- a show about three good friends: one recently married, one recently engaged, and one, the "Dog," who's never had a serious relationship.

Says Lawrence, "The goal for me next year is to still have a presence at 'Scrubs' while being a safety net for all these writers who I think are immensely talented."

November 13, 2004 - DVD News Update

Amid the flurry of CALL-TURK, several fans have asked the status of a Scrubs DVD. The answer from Bill Lawrence is that they are currently hard at work on the extras, and we should expect a Season One set to be released in early 2005, the Season Two set to be released soon after in the spring.

November 10, 2004 - CALL-TURK

It's no joke. In last's night's episode, "My Malpractical Decision," Turk got a new cell phone number -- 916-CALL-TURK -- which had to be purchased for use in the show. The cast and crew have been having fun surprising curious callers to the number by taking turns answering.
The "secret" was pretty well kept until today, and now message boards everywhere are buzzing with the news.

Call and see who you might get!

(Dare you to guess who I got!)

November 10, 2004 - Scrubs Moving Up a Notch

Since Father of the Pride has crashed and burned, Scrubs is finally getting the opportunity it's deserved for a while: leading the 9 o'clock (E/P) hour.
This is a huge move with added pressure, but of course we know our beloved show is up to the challenge.

MOPNT will have more info of the change as it becomes available.

November 09, 2004 - Make Scrubs Your Choice

Scrubs has been nominated for several People's Choice Awards.

You have until Nov. 29 to cast your vote in the first round for Favorite Male TV Star (Braff in Scrubs), Favorite TV Show (Scrubs), and Favorite Leading Man (Braff, Garden State).
The awards will be handed out January 9th in a ceremony airing on CBS.

November 08, 2004 - Bill Lawrence Putting More Irons in the Fire

The Scrubs creator-exec producer has had two other projects picked up: For the WB, Nobody's Watching, a sitcom about a couple of guys who win a chance to create their own sitcom, unknowing that their experience is the real show; and a yet-untitled NBC sitcom for comedian Brian Regan, who will play a version of himself trying to balance his relationships with his wife and his best friend. Also involved in the Brian Regan project is Scrubs co-exec producer Tim Hobert.

October 15, 2004 - "Operation Scrubs"

The classic Milton Bradley game Operation is turning 39, which is apparently a milestone. Anyway, the company held a vote for fans of the game to decide the surgery patient Cavity Sam's newest ailment -- "Brain Freeze," "Tennis Elbow," or "Growling Stomach." The winning addition will be revealed during this week's episode of Scrubs, "My Common Enemy," where the characters will play the game and be challenged by Cavity Sam's new condition. A tie-in contest is currently running.

October 13, 2004 - More Guest Stars

October 01, 2004 - MOPNT Returns

I'm getting tired of releasing news items with that title. MOPNT shouldn't go away in the first place!
After an emergency server switch, some domain headaches, a massive format change, and an unfortunate extended downtime, MOPNT is back online with some minor tweaks to how a few pages are accessed. Unfortunately the aforementioned complications mean that advanced features such as polls, guestbook and pager are not currently available, but they will be added back in as soon as possible. I've a feeling the changes will be to the site's longtime benefit, as soon as all the little kinks are worked out. You can get a more detailed rundown of the changes in site news
I want to thank everyone for hanging in there and staying loyal. It's a delight to run this site and share in everyone's love of Scrubs.

September 19, 2004 - Emmy 2004

Sorry to report tonight's Emmy Awards ceremony featured another Scrubs loss.
Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan's "My Screwup" was passed up in the Writing - Comedy Series category in favor of the Arrested Development pilot by Mitchell Hurwitz.

Heartiest congratulations to Garrett and Neil for their exemplary work on "My Screwup" and many other wonderful episodes. Better luck next year, guys!

September 14, 2004 - Emmy Update

Unfortunately John Michel lost his Emmy at Sunday's technical arts ceremony. We still congratulate him for being recognized.
Meanwhile, we should keep our fingers crossed for Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan who will find out if they'll be taking home a best writing trophy this Sunday, Sept. 19. Zach Braff will also be presenting at the ceremony, which will be broadcast on ABC.

September 08, 2004 - More Guest Stars

Tom Cavanagh, returning as JD's big brother, has been confirmed for two episodes in October. And Julianna Margulies has been confirmed for a two-episode arc for November Sweeps.

August 23, 2004 - Season Premiere Notes

Of course it's been reported and hyped here as well as at various Scrubs websites and message boards, along with the pretty good promotion NBC is doing, but don't forget that the first episode of the new season begins Tuesday, August 31st!
The lead-in, Father of the Pride will be shown without commercial interruption and therefore will run short, making Scrubs' start time 9:25 PM (E/P), rather than the standard 9:30 (or 9:32 as last season often went). Don't miss those first five minutes! NBC's Scrubs Info

August 16, 2004 - See The Blanks

If mention of The Blanks makes you scratch your head, you are obviously very new to this site -- so welcome! But if you're a fan of the a cappella group who play Ted's Band, you should know that they are starting to do regular live performances in the L.A. area.

Catch The Blanks live this Monday, August 23rd, at Cinegrill in Hollywood. The doors open at 7 PM, and the show starts at 8:30.

An NBC press release has confirmed the rumors that Heather Graham (soon appearing with Sarah Chalke in indie film Cake) will be guest-starring on Scrubs in the upcoming season. July 24, 2004 - Even More on DVD Rumor

In a recent WashingtonPost.com online chat, Zach Braff confirmed what fans in the know have been aware of since day one -- Scrubs' DVD release hinges on whether and when the show secures a syndication deal, which they're hoping for this year.

Zach Braff: There will be a "Scrubs" DVD. As I understand it, they're waiting to sell the show into syndication. We're hoping that happens this year. Most people don't realize that "Scrubs" is owned by Touchstone Television, which is Disney, but it's played on NBC. Since ABC passed on "Scrubs," NBC bought it. It just adds a little bit of politics to our show, so that affects things like timeslots and DVDs.

July 15, 2004 - "My Screwup" Draws Emmy's Eye

This morning's Emmy nominations broke some tradition with Scrubs, which for the first time has not been recognized for casting, but instead drew the attention of two other categories.

In Outstanding Writing For A Comedy Series, Garrett Donovan & Neil Goldman were nominated for the very deserving episode "My Screwup". And for his work on the same episode, John Michel was nominated in the category Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing For A Comedy Series.

We extend our congratulations to them and wish them the best of luck at the awards ceremony which will be televised September 12th. But of course they are already winners in our eyes!

July 12, 2004 - Season Four Update

NBC confirmed in May Scrubs' return for not only a fourth season, but a fifth as well. In a recent press release, the network officially announced its plans to begin its Fall season early, right on the tail of the Olympics, in order to get the most benefit from the expanded audience who will flock to the network for the Games. The only switch in NBC's Tuesday night schedule is to lead out with another installment of Last Comic Standing rather than Average Joe.

As early speculation indicated, the first new episode of the season will air on August 31st in the regular Tuesday night time-slot, 9:30 PM (E/P) Fall Tuesday...

  • 8:00 PM Last Comic Standing
  • 9:00 PM Father of the Pride (new series)
  • 9:30 PM Scrubs

July 11, 2004 - Awards Update

Sadly, both Garden State and Scrubs missed out on their respective Humanitas Prizes. However, please keep voting for the Teen Choice Awards. You can see those handed out on on August 11 on FOX.

And, always looking ahead, we'll keep our fingers crossed for the Emmy Award nominations to be announced July 15.

June 30, 2004 - Heather Graham may Scrub up

According to TV Guide, Heather Graham, Sarah Chalke's co-star in this summer's indie production Cake, is in preliminary talks to join Scrubs this fall as an attending psychologist who "comes in and [exposes] everyone's flaws and all their bull----," according to Bill Lawrence. "The character's a real catalyst to mess things up for everybody." The mag says that the plan is for Graham to sign on as a "full-fledged series regular," but, at this point, like similar news heard last season about frequent guest star Scott Foley, that should be treated as a generalization and rumor.

June 18, 2004 - Scrubs up for Another Humanitas...Zach up for First

The prize that "exists to encourage those who create contemporary media to use their immense power in a humanistic way, to enrich as well as entertain their viewers," now in its 30th year, recognizes those qualities in this past season's "My Screwup". Scrubs vies for the prize in the 30-Minute TV category alongside fellow finalist The Bernie Mac Show, recognized for two of its episodes -- "Eye of the Tiger" and "Saving Sergeant Tompkins". Naturally the writers of "My Screwup," Garrett Donovan and Neil Goldman, are already winners for penning such an excellent episode.

Also of note is the Sundance Feature Film category, in which Zach Braff has been recognized for his film Garden State.

We congratulate Zach, Neil & Garrett, and wish them luck at the luncheon ceremony to be held July 8th at the Universal Hilton.

May 21, 2004 - Entertainment Weekly Gives Scrubs an A

Probably only huge news because it's summer and not much is happening, but also big because EW almost never gives anything an A (in the past, the highest grade the show has received is a B+). But it's still nice to read such high praise and see a major publication giving the show a boost...especially during reruns.

You can read the glowing article, which calls Scrubs "silly, weird, occasionally sweet, and always very, very funny ... one of the best comedies on TV," in issue #767 for May 28, 2004.

May 17, 2004 - Season Four is Official

At the official NBC advertiser upfronts on Monday the 17th, the network confirmed Scrubs' return for a fourth season, with the added announcement that the deal has already been inked for Season Five as well. This is the first time the series has been renewed for more than one year at a time. The demonstration of support comes following Scrubs' ability to hold on to 99% of the coveted 18-49 audience from its lead-in, Frasier, since its move to Tuesdays at 9:30.

Though some early rumors were circulating that Scrubs might move up to 9 PM to replace the vacating Frasier, the original plan for Scrubs to remain in its current timeslot, Tuesday at 9:30 PM (ET/PT), has been confirmed.

Fall Tuesday...

  • 8:00 PM Average Joe
  • 9:00 PM Father of the Pride (new series)
  • 9:30 PM Scrubs
  • 10:00 PM Law & Order:SVU
NBC plans to roll out its Fall 2004 TV season early, right on the tail of the Summer Olympics, in order to take advantage of that expanded audience. Tentative start for Scrubs Season Four is August 31st.
