The ramblings of a frazzled web-master...-mistress...-person!
January.13.2007
Note to self: Never ever ever ever ever ever ever (EVER!) promise to do site updates during the holidays. Because chances are, you'll be busy with -- wait for it -- holiday stuff!
Because of all that, I don't even remember where I was. I can't say that I've been working as fast I can because of (a) the holidays and (b) the damn cold weather which just makes my head feel like sponge. But I'm...working on it. Thus...
Scripts has been updated with "My Coffee."
December.20.2006
Scripts just got some attention with the first two episodes of S6. Maybe I'll get "My Coffee" up before Christmas, but with real life Holiday hustle-bustle, I can't make any promises. Some S5 scripts will probably be farmed out in a couple days, as well, so that should speed that along. Plus, I've received some Link submissions that'll probably also get some attention in a day or two.

'Sup. Remember me? I haven't had the courage to look at traffic logs lately, because it would probably make me cry. And you guys would have every reason to abandon MOPNT, because I have been a sucky web site maintainer. But those of you who have hung in? Wow, kisses for you all.
There have been updates since the last site news entry -- a couple transcripts, some news, etc. But nothing out of the ordinary. And I can't say that there's anything really jaw-dropping at the moment, either. I am slowly migrating the site to CSS, as promised, but if I ever hope to be fully XHTML/CSS-web standards compliant, it looks like it's gotta be in stages. Right now, only the main pages have CSS marching around in the same old tables. And if I've done everything right, there are no visible changes. As I get things better organized and formatted, then I can use regular expressions to put things in a new layout. That's the technical side. The stuff that makes a difference to you is that I've added quite a number of Links to that section; though I still have to check some old links for 404s. The Main News page has been archived into Old News, and that page has been sectioned into chunks for easier loading. Merchandise has been pared down and updated. Scripts finally sees the addition of "My Missed Perception" and "My Way Home". I'm extremely sorry about the delay, and hope I can keep all the plates spinning to continue updating the site as a whole and pumping out the missing transcripts. Lastly, Music has been pored over with a fine-toothed comb and a number of omissions and inaccuracies have been fixed. If you're a music purist, you may want to go over the list and see if there's anything you're missing.
Still ahead: The FAQs section is just a mess and will probably be left as-is until the site is overhauled. Ditto for Media. Fun's Trivia Quizzes are "un-linked" until I can fix some inaccuracies and pull them over into a localized script. And I've also "un-linked" the Spoiler Unit because I don't really like being spoiled, my spoiler editor is busy with other stuff, and there are a heap of other sites that cover Scrubs spoilers much better than I do. As the site is better organized, spoilers may return in limited capacity, but for the moment, consider 'em dead.
Okay, I think that's it for right now! Whew!
Stay tuned!
January.09.2006
Gah, this sucks. I was sick in bed for, like, a month after the last update, and then the holidays hit, and suffice to say all those big updates I keep promising had to be shuffled aside. You have no idea how badly I wanted to get everything on track for the new season (more for me than for you guys, actually -- this old format is driving me insane). Anyway, for the moment, the only new thing is the Transcript for "My Intern's Eyes." I'm hoping to put some hard work into "Rite of Passage" so I can maybe get that one up before the next new eps.
October.28.2005
I've braved the existing messy markup to make some substantial updates: The return date rumors are tackled on the News page, The Music page has been cleaned up a bit, and the Blanks website is finally linked (sorry for the delay, guys!). I've also added a link to the IGN blog to the info panel.
Aaaaand I've also thrown some Spoilers up for Season Five.
October.26.2005
Updates are still just trickling in. Just a couple of News updates, with chances to win Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD (in separate contests).
Perhaps you'd like to help speed the updates along. As you guys may or may not know, I'm in the (slow) process of overhauling the site. And for those keeping track, I was able to find a way to do CSS three-column layouts. Hurrah! The design is still being tweaked, but I'm soon going to need some beta testers. If you are a user of Firefox, Safari, Netscape, or Internet Explorer for MAC, and are willing to be contacted on occasion to take a screenshot, drop me an e-mail at the address on the contact page with your browser version info. Thanks!
October.04.2005
Scripts - For the first time in a long time I can come through on a promise of "soon" -- transcript for "My Quarantine" is now uploaded.
October.03.2005
The date gap here is embarrassing, but there have actually been more updates than I've been posting. There was a DVD contest that is now closed, the winner(s) being announced shortly. But if you missed your chance the nature of the Contest Contest means another contest will be starting up again. Hopefully everyone will have an S1 DVD before the S2 set comes out. Several News updates, as well -- make sure you check out the walk-on raffle.
Scripts - "My Changing Ways" was uploaded a while back, and "My Roommates" was just put up. That leaves "My Quarantine," which I swear is almost done.
The site overhaul has hit a bit of a snag, since my "all CSS!" vow is proving more difficult than I anticipated due to the trouble with three-column layouts. I'll give it a couple more days research, then may just settle on tables (ick).
JULY.26.2005
Scripts - "My Big Move" uploaded, huge thanks to Stephen Elliott. Now all I have to do is get my butt in gear with the three remaining transcripts I'm working on.
JULY.25.2005
News, Merchandise/DVD - Hopefully something concrete about the S2 release.
Scripts - Finally got "My Lips Are Sealed" up, many thanks to "Odango Brains." "My Big Move" should be up tomorrow.
JULY.21.2005
More News updates, mainly having to do with Merchandise/DVD updates -- mostly just the Season Two rumors, which are very back-and-forth right now. Also, updated Music to reflect some S1 DVD replacement song identifications. Thanks to Jon for the "Upside Down" ID, and for inspiring me to go digging for some songs. The audio clarity of a lot of these tracks gives me hope that we'll be able to place most of them, and maybe some of the Scrubs folks will be able to come through with the rest. They're a great bunch. Hey, make sure you help out Franklyn Gottbetter with his MS bike ride!
Barring catastrophe, thanks to a couple other wonderful visitors, I should be able to get two transcripts up tomorrow. Stay tuned!
JULY.15.2005
~ Just thought I'd poke my head in, in case this is the only page some people check. It's mostly been main page news updates lately (man, there's been a lot of news in just a few days). I realize there hasn't been much life around the site lately. But you have no idea how much brain power I'm devoting to it, even when I don't have time to actually put my hands on it. I can't realistically give you a run-down right now of what's coming next.... All I can say is that everything I've promised to do will be done before summer is over. But those who are dying for the missing transcripts will likely be satisfied first. Also, if you're hanging for e-mail, or if I was in the middle of e-mailing back and forth with you and suddenly stopped, I will be picking it up again. Okay? Okay. I'm fried, so gotta go for now. I will be back! Be good!
MAY.28.2005
+ Fun: Fixed the trivia quizzes, though they're still being hosted on Alxnet at the moment. All you programmers out there can likely empathize -- it's so easy to write a script, but making sure you've plugged all the holes so people can't break it? That's hard!
MAY.27.2005
+ Updated Music: 1. Added a "FAQ" about the music section to the top of the page. Looks rather scuzzy there, and that's why I'm planning a redesign of the site. A lot of the departments will soon have one of these, where applicable, which I hope will cut down on some of the e-mail. 2. Thanks to the wonderful Bill Lawrence and his wonderful assistant, I filled in a couple of "mystery songs." That's the good news. The bad news? They're "catalog tracks" and can't be found anywhere. Aww. Still, have I mentioned how wonderful Bill Lawrence is?
~ All missing transcripts are currently in production, and I've added tags to the list to reflect that. I don't want to make any piecrust promises about when they'll be uploaded, but hopefully soon.
~ I'm also working on getting the Trivia Quizzes back up. In the meantime, I guess I could disable the links to them (duh)....
~ Oh, and Bill Lawrence is wonderful. Did you know?
MAY.16.2005
~ AAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!
Whew, okay, now that that's out of my system, here's a breakdown of updates:
+ Added some DVD news, which also required a substantial update to FAQs (where I went ahead and filled in some trivia holes thanks to the ever lovely Bill Lawrence). Also added a "Merchandise" section, in which I heavily pimp the DVD with as much info as I could pull off the top of my head.
~ This update is like slapping a big 'ol band-aid on the site for the time being. I know that things sort of fell apart at the beginning of the season when I was goin' through some stuff and then the server switch and the PHP migration and blabbity blabbity blabbity. And I never really fully got back on my feet. But! Summer is gonna be sooooo gooood! First off, I'm working with Buena Vista Home Entertainment to see if I can help drop a couple of free DVDs on you fine folks. Additionally, I'm cooking up a couple little exclusive surprises that I hope will delight and inform you (oooh, cryptic!). Also, the transcripts are going to be caught up, and they're going to be normalized and fixed, thanks to some ace help from a fan who took it upon himself to do a lot of that grunt work for me. And I think the site is going to be reorganized a bit, which may require another redesign. I sort of cringe at that thought, but it must be done, especially since so much is in need of update and I'm finding the current code layout makes that much more difficult than it should be. I'm going to dive in and take advantage of CSS -- can't hang around in the HTML dark ages for the few of you who are still holding on to your ancient browsers, sorry! And hopefully in among all that, when everything else is being tweaked and cleaned up, I can finally get the guestbook, pager, and polls back up. I know some of you have really missed those features.
So do be dear and stick around through summer! Should be interesting!
MAY.08.2005
~ Site Usage for April: Over 25,000 unique visitors making over 45,000 visits and logging 124,700 page views. Remarkable considering the lack of updates.
+ Update to Scripts, thanks to a couple of awesome fans: "My Best Laid Plans," "My Boss's Free Haircut," and "My Faith in Humanity." The last one has some noticeable formatting, as I finally figured out that setting up some auto-replace coding while initially transcribing is a hell of a lot easier than picking through and laying down the tags later.
> Ahead: Thanks to yet another awesome fan, another transcript or two, which need a little bit of work first.
~ Many apologies for the continued lack of updates. I've had so many extra responsibilities in the new year that I've let the site work go to the point of being overwhelming. But I really appreciate everyone pitching in. Together we'll get this place back in shape. Thanks for your patience and for the sweet e-mails complimenting the site, even though it's seen better days. :)
APR.18.2005
+ Transcripts of "My Ocardial Infarction" and "My Lucky Charm" finally up. More to come shortly.
APR.03.2005
+ I hate JavaScript. And after receiving several complaints about the Personality Test not working for some people, I knew I had to get away from the JS. So I finally did that. The new version hasn't been exhaustively tested (I just banged it out this afternoon), so it may have bugs. Please let me know if you find any. Otherwise, hopefully those who have had trouble in the past will enjoy.
~ Ahead: Figuring out PHP quiz/test concepts should allow me to move the Trivia Quizzes off of Alxnet, as they're apparently not working anymore.
APR.01.2005
~ Apologies for any of you who had difficulty reaching the site earlier this evening. I'm tempted to claim that it was an April Fools joke, but I'm not that mean.
~ Site usage for March: Over 28,000 unique visitors logging almost 48,500 visits and more than 136,000 page views.
+ Updates: Transcript of "My Hypocritical Oath." I really did love this episode, and it was a pleasure transcribing it. The filename is different to most others, and will probably be the beginning of an overall change. (I think I'm the only Scrubs fan who looks forward to summer hiatus -- it'll give me a chance to fix a lot of things wrong with the site.)
MAR.25.2005
~ Another month, another update. Oh, dear. I'm not going to make any pie-crust promises at the moment, let's just see how things go.
~ Site usage (didn't we just do one of these? yes, we did) for February (remember February?): Over 19,300 unique visitors logging almost 34,600 visits and nearly 100,000 page views. Stay tuned for March's traffic results which, if we're lucky, should be posted in just a few days!!!
+ Updates: Huge, big, enormous organizing and updating of Spoilers and News. And I've added a completely useless Easter egg (rather appropriate considering the time of year). Not sure how user-friendly it is, not even sure if it works 100% correctly as I coded most of it several months ago and then had to remember what the hell I was doing before I could finish -- but none of that matters, because I mainly coded it for my own use, but if any of you find it, enjoy. :)
~ Continued clean-up and transcripts ahead, along with some really important updates that will be posted as soon as I can collect my thoughts and send a thank-you e-mail. What? Don't give me that look. It could happen...eventually!
FEB.26.2005
~ I've been taking a mind-reading class. Check this out: "Are these paltry monthly updates going to be the norm? Is MOPNT dying?" Pretty cool, huh? The answers are No and No. I have been mondo busy lately (good busy, not evil busy like last year -- 2005 is still rocking!), and I'm just trying to work site updates into it. It'll be a lot easier once I remember how I coded this place. Y'know, beyond just recognizing that it's sloppy.
~ Site usage (didn't we just do one of these?) for January (remember January?): Over 21,400 unique visitors logging almost 37,000 visits and over 107,000 page views. It might just be a new record.
+ Updates: "My Life in Four Cameras" transcript.
I've got, like, four other transcripts in the works with some offers for help with the rest. Which I will take up as soon as I can get to e-mail. Sheesh. Basically this is a non-update update, wherein I say, "I haven't done much, but I'm gonna! Promise!"
JAN.24.2005
~ So I kinda took a break for the holidays, and when it came time to end the holiday fun and get back to site stuff, I basically took the irresponsible approach and slacked off. And as things began piling up, it just looked like less and less fun to do, and after the year I had in 2004, I wanted fun. So I've been having fun. Have you been having fun? I hope so. I'm gonna declare it right now: 2005 is the Year of Fun. Tell your friends.
~ Wanna know what was up in December? Me too. 17,500 unique visitors. 30,500 visits. Almost 92,000 page views. E-mails answered? Very few. Eep.
+ Updates: Uh, FAQs, News, Spoilers; taking down the "Other Projects" page 'cause it's too much upkeep -- the main news page will be just fine for stuff like that. The Pager will return soonish.
DEC.22.2004
~ Happy Holidays, everyone! It's a crazy time of year, with shopping and parties and family and yada-yada-yada. Hard to work in site updates at the same time....
+ In the hubbub, I managed to finally get the transcript for "My Best Moment" up.
DEC.07.2004
~ Site Usage Update: November had over 16,900 unique visitors (a new record) who made over 31,000 visits and generated over 97,000 page views.
+ Updates to... News, Spoiler Unit, Scripts ("My Female Trouble" thanks to Odango Brains and "My Unicorn" thanks to...me).
NOV.19.2004
+ Added "My Common Enemy" transcript.
NOV.16.2004
~ There've mostly been News updates...they're all coming fast and furious with the CALL-TURK thing. Word is the gang are getting around 10,000 calls a day. Whew! God bless 'em. As for my own experience, I've been getting some e-mails asking me who I got on the phone. To satisfy your guys' curiosity, I got the one and only Bill Lawrence. My crush on the guy is legendary, so I'm a happy girl.
+ As promised, the Pager is now online. The old one was based on a rather funky ASP script that I hacked the hell out of, so conversion was tricky. I ended up basically rewriting the whole thing in PHP. The nice thing is that in doing so I 1) got a crash course in PHP (holla for the curly brackets hate!) and 2) added lots more stuff to it. It's got BBcode (the insertion menu isn't perfect, but JavaScript ain't my thing and never will be). It's a little prettier due to my caving in to CSS. And, thanks to the wonders of cookies, once it's embedded into the main pages, you'll have the ability to disable seeing it there if you prefer. For now, you'll have to launch the stand-alone version. After a few days of making sure everything is working right, I'll unleash it on the rest of the site. I've only been able to test it myself on Internet Explorer, so if you have another browser and things don't look or work as expected, please please please send me an e-mail and let me know about it. Thanks! Have fun!
+ Just added the "My MalPractical Decision" transcript, and reindexed the PicoSearch utility.
NOV.9/10.2004
~ It's either really late on the 9th or really early on the 10th.... Doesn't matter. I'm feeling all, like, "blalalalala!" -- and, no, it doesn't mean "confused and incredibly annoyed." Giddy with excitement is more accurate. Because even though I wasn't absolutely thrilled with tonight's episode, heh, the tie-in? No words can describe. Just...the stars and planets aligned, the heavens opened up, God smiled upon me and bestowed the most awesome and appropriate gift on me. I may regret posting that later.
+ Updates! Yes, there're more! News! FAQs! Um, that's all for tonight!
~ But! I can confidently share with you all the news that the pager is very close to coming back online. Just need to add a few more lines of code, do a pinch more testing, and then I'll release it for you all to try and break. ;)
NOV.09.2004
~ Uh, hi. Yeah, the site hasn't been updated in a while. Ask anyone who knows me, and they will vouch for my obsessive nature. I'm currently obsessed with PHP. All for you guys, I swear.
~ Site usage for October: 16,200 unique visitors? Is that right? That can't be right -- that would be a new site record. Well, if it's true, yay! Logs show that those 16,200 people made over 29,000 visits and accessed 99,000 pages. (Okay, that figured is probably skewed from testing.)
+ Over the past few days, I've fixed the user count, updated Spoilers (did that a week ago but forgot to upload the damn file). Also just added the "Her Story" transcript. And I've split this page into a recent MOPNT section and a "My Fansite" archive -- the load time was getting ridiculous.
~ I also was finally able to see "My Cake." Fab episode!
OCT.19.2004
+ Spoiler Unit has been updated. Scripts have been updated with "My First Kill" AND "My Cake," thanks to the lovely Aragorn. Really, this guy bends over backwards for MOPNT, in more ways than I can possibly point out. It would certainly be a lesser site without him. So what do we say, kids? "Thank you, Aragorn!"
~ Also, big thanks go to Peter, who is hooking me up with a tape of the episode. That way I can watch and then nitpick Aragorn's work. *wink*
OCT.13.2004
~ DID ANYONE TAPE "MY CAKE"? In SP? Preferably with ads? Who could send me a copy? A power outage caused me to miss this episode, leaving me completely in the dark (ha, ha) as to the details of the ep. Music, transcript, my own personal happiness are on hold until I can see what some are calling the best of Season Four. Downloading is not an option, so please don't flood my mailbox with the suggestion. :)
+ Updated News & Spoilers.
OCT.11.2004
+ I removed the random features from the bottom of this page because I got a report that it was mucking with the accuracy of WatchThatPage. There're probably only a couple of people having that problem, but I thought I might as well make them happy.
+ Added the skinny draft of "My New Game." This is not going as quickly as I had intended...
~ More soon.
OCT.03.2004
~ Forgot to mention some other changes: The [home] link is now called [news] because it just makes things a little clearer. [music] was getting really cumbersome, so I split it into seasons and also allowed for a display of the whole list if you like, but the default view is the current season.
+ Finally got databases figured out and added a script for counting current visitors. Unlocking that mystery should speed the re-addition of polls and pager.
+ Updated Spoilers. Updated [scripts] with "My Office." It's very bare-bones because it was requested and because I'm so behind on transcripts.
~ I'm really anxious to normalize and correct all the transcripts, and was planning on doing that this summer, but things came up. I've got my fingers crossed that I'll be able to work on it this season, hopefully before the summer.
~ Oh, and e-mail is back up. Apparently during that down time, it was bouncing or just swallowing mail. If you sent me anything between September 16th and October 1st, you might want to try sending it again.
OCT.01.2004
~ HI, GUYS! Didja miss me? Well, not me, but the site at least? I am so sorry everything fell apart like that. I was forced into some quick server transition and probably could have handled that all right if I hadn't had to deal with (in no particular order) heartbreak, deception, illness, and death also darkening my doorstep at the same time. I plunged into anger and depression for a while, but you know what? Though life is crappy, I'm happy! I want to thank those of you who have kept me in your thoughts and prayers, because I'm 100% certain that that positivity has helped me heal. There's no other explanation for it!
Okay, enough about me...
~ Site usage for September: Hell if I know. And if you want to know, you're out of luck, babycakes!
~ The big changes: For a start, I'm now on a UNIX server, not Windows. That means that if you enter URLs manually, you better get the case right. Abandoning Windows also meant abandoning ASP, so now everything is coded in PHP. I'll try to get as many redirects up for the popular URLs that used to end in .asp; and to preserve everyone's sanity into the future, I've moved some of those popular pages so that they don't even have an extension. (e.g. fun/drinking.asp is now just fun/drinking/)
I dumped [sight & sound] and moved a lot of the stuff there to [links]. New visitors likely won't care. Veteran visitors can still access the page if they have it bookmarked, though there's not much reason to bother.
~ What hasn't been done: Transcripts - I'm way behind because I've been so busy. They are definitely my first priority. FAQs - Severely out of date. They're just behind transcripts in priority. Bugs - I'm sure there are some. A lot maybe. I will be link-checking as much as I can over the next few days. After that, if you find something I've missed, I'd love to hear from you.
Okay, I think that's it. Whew! Have fun and don't hesitate to send me your feedback. Always remember this is our fan site!
SEP.14.2004
+ Updates to News and Spoilers (and Music, of course).
~ "My Office" transcript is coming soon. One of these weeks I hope to get a transcript up before the next episode airs.
Saw Zach Braff's Garden State over the weekend. The film is perhaps not for all Scrubs fans, but I think anyone who attends will take away something -- whether it be a good laugh, a new perspective, or both.
SEP.08.2004
~ Heh. Same date, just...later.
+ Spoiler Unit has been tidied and updated.
(Hoping to do similar for FAQs very soon.)
SEP.08.2004
~ Someone please stop the world, I want to get off.
Um, where are we? New month? Site stats, I guess. August, usage was up in preparation for the new season: Almost 11,600 unique visitors made almost 19,000 visits with almost 59,000 page views.
For a little perspective, we're only a week into September, yet the figures for the month are already nearly half of those quoted above. Way to go, guys!
+ Finally added the transcript for "Old Friend's New Friend." Sorry it took so long.
More updates soon, I hope.
AUG.23.2004
+ Updated Spoiler Unit and main News page. Also, we are officially out of "Rerun Season"! (Because I said so.)
AUG.17.2004
~ Ohh, someone shoot me now. I've had some pretty horrible things happen in my life (break out the violins), but the past two weeks really take the cake (play a little louder, please).
And now, on top of it all, my server is changing, which means MOPNT has to move away from ASP. I am up to the challenge, and I think the site will be better for it in the long run, just be prepared for some changes in the way you access certain areas (any URL that ends in .asp for example). I hope that some features (polls, pager, guestbook) won't have to be disabled for any period of time, but please keep in mind that it's a possibility.
Any prayers or positive energy you can send in my direction would also be hugely appreciated.
+ Okay! Put away those violins! I have updated Spoilers with info on the third episode of the new season. Also added some news to the Home page.
AUG.10.2004
+ Updated the Blanks info article under Music. Lots of interesting stuff there, and if you're still trying to wrap your brain around the Blanks/Butties connection, it'll hopefully clear some stuff up for you!
AUG.08.2004
~ I'm clawing my way out of the hole I dug for myself by not really updating as regularly as I should have. There are probably a billion Garden State articles I could have linked to, and will try to catch up with the ones that have at least something about Scrubs in them soon. I hear some are referring to Zach Braff as the "former Scrubs star." If you read this, please don't worry. Zach is contracted to do the show for two more years.
~ Despite the lack of updates, site usage has been surprisingly healthy: July saw over 9,300 unique visitors making about 14,800 visits (there were almost 1,200 in one 24-hour period) with over 47,000 page views.
+ Most recent updates are to Spoilers and the Home Page. I fixed the broken soundtrack link in Music. More to come, as well as hopefully getting to e-mail and integrating some of the things submitted by visitors!
JUL.21.2004
~ Um, is it remiss of me to not post here when I've updated the front page news? I just figure it's a bit redundant.
+ Anyway, News has been updated.
~ I can't believe it's been two weeks since the last major update.... I know there's stuff that needs to be done, but focusing is a major ordeal lately. All I can promise is: more soon!
Enjoy the Scrubs-A-Thon!
JUL.07.2004
~ I'm not sure how many people have been getting the error messages lately. On top of occasionally preventing pages from loading, the problem also crippled my FTP access and e-mail, and played major havoc with visitor counts, both active display and logging. BUT! I think it's all fixed now.
Anyway, the traffic that was tracked in June: Over 8,300 unique visitors made over 13,700 visits with almost 45,000 page views.
+ As for updates, I think I've got almost all the pages switched over to the new design tweak, I've updated FAQs, Links (I've gone back to columns), and have reformatted the local media articles. Other than a couple of News updates, I think that's about it.
JUN.24.2004
+ Added a new News subpage -- Other Projects -- that tracks the non-Scrubs work of the stars. As a Scrubs site, obviously I can't provide deep detail, but I hope to be able to provide there enough links to sites that do.
+ I'm in the process of doing some minor design tweaks, the most notable is dumping the ellipsis thing for a double underline on off-site and similar links that open in a second window. If not for the glut of advertising pop-ups and the prevalence of software to kill them, this wouldn't be necessary, but you gotta go with the times.
JUN.17.2004
+ Okay, the much- (well, all right, only somewhat) hyped Flash chat room has gone live. Even though it was a packaged script, as usual I fiddled with it like crazy, and spent far too much time trying to get a reasonably accurate user count on the rest of the site. Because of that, I'm a little concerned that things will not work perfectly or as expected. As it is, the room count inside the chat tends to hold on to the occasional phantom user. Don't know why.
JUN.14.2004
~ Wow. Been a while since the last update, huh? I have a good excuse though -- I've been in coding hell. I've been ignoring everything (transcripts) and everyone (e-mail) in the process, but it's all for the benefit of the site, I assure you!
Site Usage Report for May: That little two-day blackout kind of set the site back in unique visitors, so no records were broken there, but 9,569 people did make over 17,000 visits. Page view count was skewed because of my own testing, so no point in mentioning it.
I expect visits to spike slightly now that the little darlings at NBC.com have finally updated their Scrubs Fanfare section, MOPNT being one of the sites listed. Yay!
+ Anyway, about that coding.... I have made the "pop stand-alone" feature of the pager only list 50 messages at a time because it was taking so long to load, and manually archiving it was silly.
~ More updates soon. Promise.
MAY.23.2004
+ Updated Media with several articles.
~ For those wondering about the transcripts, correcting them and formatting them is my first priority for the summer, but I can't even begin until I replace the TV that's in the same room with the computer. Since the picture went out, all I have in here is a VCR and nothing to view it on. So please just bear with me!
MAY.20.2004
+ I don't think I've updated anything really noticeable over the past two weeks. I did manage to get that "Favorite Episode" poll up, as promised. I also replaced the drinking game .gif ad with something that looks a little better. The site cleaning is happening slowly, I'm sure to the chagrin of a few of you who may have arrived to the occasional error message. The addition of sub-departments may have stalled, as I'm not sure what I wanted to add or why.... And thanks to cleaning up a little of my code, the new chat system, this one in Flash, will be coming very, very soon.
MAY.07.2004
+ A little early, got the draft transcript for "My Best Friend's Wedding" uploaded. I adored this episode, and am struggling with the feeling that my transcript can't do it justice.
~ Plans for summer: First thing is to get the "favorite episode" poll up for this season. Future plans include cleaning up the site a little bit, adding a couple of sub-departments, and hopefully getting a better chat system up.
Suggestions for improvement welcome.
MAY.04.2004
+ A little late, but finally got the draft transcript for "My Self Examination" finished and up.
MAY.02.2004
~ Site Usage Report for April: WOW, amazing numbers, possibly the best in the the site's entire two year existence -- 12,875 unique visitors making 23,912 visits with 70,502 page views.
+ Updates to News, Music, and FAQs to reflect the release of the long-awaited Blanks CD.
APR.29.2004
~ Argh, what a month. Little, necessary updates here and there, but mostly it's been behind the scenes stuff to appear a little over time. Come on, summer!
+ Now that my FTP server is back up, I was able to update the Music list and finally upload transcripts of "My Choosiest Choice of All" and "My Fault." Apologies for the delay but honestly, people, this week some of you genuinely frightened me. There's loyalty and enthusiasm, and then there's just crazy-ass impatience. 'Kay?
APR.09.2004
+ Transcript of "His Story II" uploaded.
If it seems slightly "rougher" than others, my apologies. I wasn't overly thrilled with the episode, and I fear it might show in the transcript.
APR.05.2004
+ Transcript of "My Moment of Un-Truth" is freshly uploaded.
APR.03.2004
~ Site usage for March was awesome! 11,841 unique visitors made almost 22,500 visits and accessed over 75,000 pages. Glad to see the month's guest stars and music generated so much interest!
+ Only a few updates at the moment.... Links -- I've updated the link to the new Scrubs-TV.com message board. Fun -- I've added more S2 Trivia Quizzes, #5, #6, and #7.
~ Transcript of "Un-Truth" coming shortly.
MAR.27.2004
~ Oh, my goodness, gracious sakes alive, what a crappy week. I mean for me. Been a pretty good week for Scrubs -- we're renewed!
+ Updated News & Spoilers, FAQs.
MAR.23.2004
+ Finally uploaded the "My Butterfly" draft transcript.
MAR.17.2004
+ Huge Media update. My thanks to Aragorn for pointing nearly all of the newly posted articles out.
+ M'yeah, tiny Links and FAQs updates, too.
+ Aaaand Spoiler Unit. Which sort of catches us up! :)
MAR.15.2004
+ Someone wrote asking me for a link button...so I added some to the About page. Not sure if larger banner-type sizes would be useful as well, but these are a good start. I welcome submissions from people who are better with graphics than I (that would be most of the population!).
MAR.14.2004
~ Site usage report for February: "My Screw Up" and the consequential interest in Josh Radin generated some pretty high numbers -- the best in MOPNT's history (as MOPNT): 10,491 individual visitors making over 18,500 visits and accessing over 60,000 pages. Wow!
+ It seems I have a ton of updates up in the air, but so far a concrete update is the uploading of the transcript for "My Tormented Mentor" -- finally.
MAR.01.2004
+ Updated FAQs again...that's something I did in the last update. Needed doing again, especially considering the news also added to Home: DVD rumor. Very hopeful news.
+ Also, thanks to a visitor, I have a draft transcript of "My Screw Up" online. I really haven't had a chance to format it or even really look at it...but those who have yet to see the episode and want to get caught up before this week's episode should find it handy. Thanks to Darren for his work.
FEB.29.2004
+ Archived old posts (because I know someone would want it) to the pager so that the "pop all" link would load faster.
Also removed the random quote from this page, as I was alerted to the fact that WatchThatPage.com was sending notification for it. How annoying.
FEB.27.2004
+ I dunno...little updates here and there.... My brain is oatmeal right now. What I do know is that I took a visitor's suggestion and added spoiler tag capability to the pager. Having visitor interaction so prominent on the site has its drawbacks -- possibly spoiling those who are in other parts of the world and are therefore behind in episodes -- so I hope everyone will cooperate with this.
Other than that change, if something looks new, it means I updated it. If not, it means I didn't. Coherent news will come on a day when I haven't been coding. Thank you. Good night!
FEB.23.2004
+ "My Porcelain God" transcript uploaded. Home's Spoiler Unit updated. Links updated....
Which brings me to my rant: Oh, that's a bad newbie! Bad! Oh, bad!
Seriously, people, if you're going to erect a fan site, for the love of GOD, keep up with it! If you can't personally do so, how about donating it to someone who can? In updating Links, I had to add a new frickin' section, called The Morgue. Why? Because 2 sites have been taken down "temporarily", and three others are now completely dead.
For SHAME!
Anyway, the good news is that the removal of some dead weight allows the spotlight to shine more brightly on new sites, such as the one at JustBecauseICan.com. I think it's so good I've even linked it in the info panel, as the current featured "article".
FEB.19.2004
+ "My Catalyst" transcript finally uploaded. Yay!
FEB.16.2004
+ After clearing the cobwebs from my mind I finally got the transcript for "My Clean Break" finished and uploaded. I hope to get "My Catalyst" finished and up in record time for you guys. Thanks for the patience.
+ As requested, I have started an archive for the calendar events in the grey info panel. You can find that in the panel added to the "old news" page which is linked at the head of recent news on the start page.
~ Spoiler Unit update coming very soon (today or tomorrow), and a huge FAQs update is overdue. Also, a new site will be added to the Links section which I think everyone will really, really enjoy.
I have a ton of e-mail to get to, most notably about the issue of episode subtitle files. I hope to get to the bottom of that very soon and get people hooked up to such a valuable resource.
~ Oh...and site usage for January.... Probably because there were so few episodes aired, January site use was down a bit from December. Still, the numbers were pretty good: Almost 7,600 unique visitors making almost 13,000 visits and accessing over 43,000 pages.
JAN.30.2004
+ Finally got "My Rule of Thumb"'s transcript up. Added some news to Start...a small Spoiler update. Still trying to catch up to all the date switches for upcoming episodes due to the Tuesday move. And the numbering? Ugh.
JAN.23.2004
~ Hello, my name is Michelle, and I'm a 'net addict. My ISP went down on Tuesday -- they changed my local access number without warning -- and I've only just gotten back online today. Those three days were absolute torture!
+ Now that I'm back, I've updated the Music list, the episode poll, News and Spoilers. I'm also trying to make some sense out of the schedule due to The Apprentice's permanent (y'know, for now) move to Thursdays.
JAN.14.2004
+ Thanks to a little prompting from a loyal visitor, I have made the wishes of several come true by reworking the title logo to the "traditional" Scrubs font. Feel free to post comments good or bad in the pager.
+ Minor updates to FAQs, Links, Home>Spoilers.
JAN.05.2004
~ Happy new year! Let's see how long it takes before I screw up and post 2003 somewhere...
Site Use Report: Continuing the pattern, last month's traffic built on that of the previous month. December saw almost 8,500 unique visitors, who logged some 14,700 visits and accessed over 47,000 pages.
+ The past few weeks have only seen some minor tweaks and updates, including Home, Spoilers, Links, and About.
DEC.23.2003
+ Updated Home>Spoilers. Added "My Friend The Doctor" transcript.
Happy Holidays, everyone!
DEC.15.2003
+ Scripts: Thanks to the help of the wonderful Chris Schumacher, both versions of this transcript have now been uploaded.
Despite appearances, the wait was blessedly short, as my schedule of late has caused some severe tardiness with site updates and transcripts. I may be the only fan who shouts, "Hooray for reruns!" for this reason.... *smirk*
--
+ The random quote generator now contains lines from all of Season Two. I always put this off so long because it's such a pain in the ass to do, but also because I like to give most visitors a chance to actually see the episodes before having the best lines thrust upon them.
DEC.10.2003
+ Update to Home > Spoiler Unit
DEC.09.2003
+ Draft Transcript for "My 15 Seconds" added.
~ Similar for "My Friend The Doctor" coming soon. FYI, the wait for the transcript for this week's "My Dirty Secret" should be blessedly short.
DEC.05.2003
~ OMD, I'm so behind. Transcript for "15 Seconds" is coming very soon, I promise.
~ I'm apparently the only person ignoring MOPNT lately -- site usage was up last month from the previous: November saw 7,791 unique visitors logging 14,601 visits and accessing about 50,700 pages.
+ Current updates: Mostly stuff about "My Dirty Secret" FINALLY airing this week -- Home, FAQs, info panel, as well as the routine Music update last night.
NOV.22.2003
~ Oh, for the love of-- Could I be any stupider? Or more embarrassed? Yes, I added the music info for "My 15 Seconds" to the site on show night. And I uploaded a heap of stuff at the time. But I didn't actually look at the updated pages because, well, I'm so hot. Sheesh, and then I just wondered why Archduke_Chocula was having convulsions on the pager, still without checking anything because I knew I had updated the music list. It couldn't have been me, because, as I've said, I'm so hot. GAWD, I'm a moron.
+ Rant over. Updated Music page actually uploaded. Hurrah.
My thanks to kariyaki at TWoP for spelling it out in plain English. God knows how much longer it would have been before the penny dropped.
NOV.21.2003
+ Updates to News and Spoiler Unit.
NOV.20.2003
~ Whatever happened to that productive November I promised myself?
+ Uploaded the draft transcript for "My Advice To You". If you're looking for a transcript that includes all the exact Spanish, oh, you have a problem, my friend. But, as with all the German in "My Interpretation", I'll figure out what I can, and what I can't someone else, I'm sure, will be able to fill in. For now, have fun with the English parts.
NOV.12.2003
+ Finally, finally, finally uploaded the transcript for "My Brother, Where Art Thou?" to Scripts. Sorry for the delay.
NOV.08.2003
+ Just your regular stuff: Small FAQs update; added some talk show news to the right panel; added info about the Commies to News.
NOV.04.2003
+ Added the Draft transcript for "My Lucky Night".
NOV.02.2003
~ Shakespeare was wrong -- names are hugely important. When the site got a new name and look (and the season started...) it saw a resurgence of traffic, despite the search engines being pokey about indexing. Site Usage report for October ("MOPNT"'s first month): 6,200 unique visitors. 10,500 visits. 40,700 page views.
+ Updated Music with all the songs from "My Lucky Night". Quite a bit of that is just plucked from the scrubs-tv.com site, as the music was hard to identify. As it is, I still can't find anything on the 'net about "Library Cue". That's being listed on faith alone, and corrections and/or verification would be highly appreciated.
+ Also changed the stand-alone Pager window to pure JavaScript, as the old way was messing with all new browser windows. Hope that will calm the lynch mob. :)
OCT.30.2003
~ I was really hoping to accomplish a lot more a lot sooner than I actually did this week. Here's hoping for a more productive November.
+ Scripts: "My White Whale" draft.
OCT.25.2003
+ Updates to: Spoiler Unit, Home.
~ Scripts: In the process of formatting the old "complete" transcripts to the new site. Will also have 1.07 "complete" within the next couple days, and should have the draft for "My White Whale" up in the same time period.
OCT.21.2003
+ Installed a "tagboard/shoutbox/pager" in the grey panel of the main departments. Would have been up weeks ago, but a lot of modifications (read: rewriting) had to go into it.
+ Moved the MultiCity Java chat over from "My Fansite". Too many requests for it; plus I thought it would help keep bandwidth usage down for heavy-duty chatters.
+ Fixed a bunch of broken links.
OCT.17.2003
+ Fixed the German website URL in Links, updated showtime in Italy in FAQs, added songs from "My Dirty Secret" to Music. Ahhh, technology.
OCT.16.2003
~ I guess updates don't count unless you actually upload them, right?
+ Updates to: Home, Spoiler Unit, Links, Scripts ("My Journey"), and a special poll about baseball.
OCT.07.2003
~ Clock's now reading the 7th, so I'll put this in another entry...
+ Added the PicoSearch utility to the Scripts page. I had really, really, really wanted to use a local ASP script for that, but nothing was as flexible and detailed as what Pico offers. If it ain't broke, why fix it?
OCT.06.2003
+ Uploaded the Dialogue Draft for "My American Girl" to [scripts]
~ I realized that I forgot to move the search tool for the transcripts to the new site, so I'll be adding that later today. Also working on a couple other "goodies" for the site. Plus, there's good news on the Keren DeBerg front. More info to come....
...
+ Added a heap of stuff to promote Keren DeBerg's first full-length album, 'Gone', which has finally been released -- news on the Start page, correct album info on the Music page, updated info page, and added animated .gif.
SEP.30/OCT.01.2003
Welcome to MOPNT! Get it? Hmm, maybe you mopn't. Perhaps you would if you'd mopped episode 2.04, "My Big Mouth"?
Yes, it's a Scrubs reference, but it's also an acronym for "My Own Personal 'Net Thing" (which is also mildly Scrubby (think episode 1.11, "My Own Personal Jesus" -- which was a play on an old Depeche Mode song).
What's here? Well, just about everything that was at "My Fansite", in a (hopefully) more organized layout. Now coding with ASP, I have been able to tie down a few of the goodies (poll [which I hope is now stable -- bug reports appreciated], guestbook) to the site so I have more control.
Highlights of the biggest content changes:
+ Spoiler Unit (linked from start): I figured I might as well have a one-stop place for news of upcoming guests and their plots.
+ Finally got random quotes for all of S-1 plugged into the generator (which is no longer in JavaScript)
+ Combined [clips] and [images] into [sight & sound].
+ Revamped the [faqs]
In the coming days, I will be formatting the [media] articles to a set standard, and hope to soon do similar with [scripts].
I want to thank the people who have helped me in the update, and also the visitors who were so patient while I pretty much ignored "My Fansite" in order to get MOPNT off the ground. Enjoy!
"My Fansite" Site News Archive
AUG.08.2003
- Eh, site usage report for July, why not: Despite 15 days of zero hits, at least 2,999 of you did stop in and were counted. Thanks!
+ With the help of a visitor, I was able to add a Janitor string to the Drinking Game. Also added some news to the start page.
JUL.31.2003
+ Updated news on start page.
JUL.30.2003
+ [scripts] Aragorn was quickest on the draw when I was begging for help transcribing "My Tuscaloosa Heart". His great work has been uploaded. Thanks again to him and those who offered to help.
- Not many updates other than that and our S-3 premiere date on the start page. I'm so busy lately with work and household responsibilities...plus I'm starting to get the ball rolling on building myself a new computer (a new adventure for me!), as the one I'm on can't cut the mustard anymore (can you say 200 MHz and 1.7 GBs drive space?). Still, patience, patience, all! I have some pretty big plans for the site which I hope to have in place before the start of next season.
JUL.24/25.2003
+ News on the start page. That's it.
JUL.11.2003
+ Little updates here and there, nothing really of note except the news on the home page. This auction is really important, and anyone who has the means to participate and can take it seriously should really consider it. You'll be giving back to 'Scrubs' by helping a lady who taught these writers a lot of what they know. In return, you get something quite valuable -- time with one of these talented people.
- For those wondering why I haven't been posting site usage reports, it's because the statistics are somewhat dubious. I mean, the only reason I'd be depressed that the site got 0 hits on 17 days in June is because it would mean that 'Scrubs'' popularity is going down. But, I can't believe that statistic, because I know that _I_ was at least visiting the site on a number of those 17 days!
JUL.09.2003
+ [scripts] Dialogue Draft for 1.22, "My Occurrence".
- This leaves one episode -- 1.18, "My Tuscaloosa Heart" -- left completely blank. Until I find my copy (which is an edited down Thursday rerun), it'll remain blank.... That is unless someone offers to help. Hint, hint. (Update: This has been taken care of. Thanks to all who offered to help. You rock!)
- More updates coming really soon.
JUN.26.2003
+ [fun] Added two new trivia quizzes...and cleaned up the results pages of the existing ones.
JUN.24.2003
- Okay, so now the silence was only 3 weeks. But I have a good excuse: I was trapped in a game. Go on and tell me you've never been there....
+ Very few updates: Some news on the start page, some appletini recipes on the drinking game page....
+ Okay, a couple more updates:
[faqs] update, Dialogue Draft transcript of "My Sacrificial Clam" added to [scripts].
JUN.02.2003
- Holy crap. A month? Sheesh, I knew it had been a while, but a _month_? What can I say? It just hasn't really been my day, my week, my month...or even my year. Wait a sec...wrong show.
Don't think I've been doing nothing! I have updates!
+ [Media] Fixed about a trillion broken links. Only really lost one story.
+ [Links] Added a few links.
+ [Scripts] Dialogue Drafts for "My Dream Job" and "My Big Brother"...finally. Okay, that leaves just a few more from last season to get the dialogue for, and then I can put the nose to the ol' grindstone to get them in some sort of finished format.
+ [Fun] This is something I'm rather proud of: It's a "Which 'Scrubs' Character Are You?" personality test. Perfect? No. Outrageously, brain-damagingly fun? Well, maybe not quite. A decent way for a 'Scrubs' fan to waste 15 minutes? Hell yeah! As with any other part of the site, suggestions for improvement of this feature are welcome and appreciated.
MAY.01.2003
- Have I been whiny lately? Apologies for that... I'm not even sure what my problem was. I mean, was site usage down in April? Yes. But I am so pumped that almost 3,000 people _did_ show up and access about 10,000 pages.
I especially want to thank Melissa and Chris for their sweet e-mails...which I have not yet responded to. Ack.
+ Today I updated Links, Media, and Music... Who knew an 8-minute clip show could be so full of tunes?
APR.24/25.2003
- How're we all doing? Not going through any major withdrawal symptoms yet, are we? The bloopers specials are now only a week away...so stay strong!
+ I have changed the background with the reminder of those specials...
+ Added the "My Drama Queen" dialogue draft for the fans to read and TwizTV to rip off. *sigh*
+ As always, am trying to keep up with the News. I've added the link to enter to win a trip to the 'Scrubs' set.
+ More JavaScript -- this time just a little of it on the home page, to randomize one of the animated .gifs.
APR.21.2003
+ Updated News on the Start Page with info about Nina Simone (R.I.P.), and the outtakes specials which will air on Apr. 30 and May 1.
+ Updated Media with a few stories. Be sure to check out the one on Neil Flynn -- lots of good info about the Janitor.
APR.17.2003
- *sniff* I can't believe the season is over! Good ending, though, huh?
+ As usual, updated Music.
+ Fixed some missing/incorrect dialogue in "My Kingdom".
+ Added some Talk Show news and news about the 'Scrubs' outtakes special on May 1. Will be promoting the hell out of that next week.
APR.16.2003
= Okay, I would totally be lying if I said I haven't been ignoring the site. And, man, have I paid for that. Daily usage went down from over 100 visits a day to a couple dozen.
Not that I haven't been updating...the changes just haven't been very significant, thus I haven't been posting about them here.
+ I fixed the "smart quotes" and ellipses in a few of the old Draft transcripts. This should prevent question marks showing up in place of apostrophes when you paste a line at a message board, etc.
+ Updated the FAQs.
+ Added "My Interpretation" draft transcript. Spending so much time fiddling with the German (which actually paid off, thanks to fellow fan, Martin) in this episode put me behind for "Drama Queen." Sorry.
APR.03.2003
*humming "99 Red Balloons"*
Gotta love this show, right? Argh!
+ Added draft transcripts of "My Own Private Practice Guy" and "My Kingdom".
+ Thanks to an e-mail from a visitor (love ya, Jarret!), I was able to add in the dialogue under the NBC chime in "My T.C.W."
- Lastly, since it's a new month, I thought I'd let you know that the February black outs didn't kill us. While March's numbers were down a bit from the norm, "My Fansite" still received over 4,000 unique visitors and served over 17,000 pages in that month.
MAR.25.2003
+ Despite being crazy-busy this week (though some of it was fun *blows noisemaker*), I was actually able to fit in the draft transcript for "My T.C.W." That's, like, some kind of record lately. Hope to get to "Private Practice Guy" shortly.
MAR.24.2003
+ News & Music.... Keren DeBerg's EP is finally obtainable via her website (50 were made available over the weekend -- there are 25 left this afternoon). I've been trying to get links up for that. I e-mailed her guy Kevin to see if he can fill us in on exactly _which_ four songs we'll be getting if we order. As noted on her info page here, he has confirmed two of them in the past: "A Little Better" and "See Ya Around". The other two are question marks. However, considering how many of her songs have been used on 'Scrubs' so far, it would be a miracle if the other two tracks _were_ new to us.
(It's a miracle! The other two songs on the EP are the non-'Scrubs' tunes "W.I.S" [clip available on her site] and "Millionaire".)
MAR.20.2003
+ Added news on what NBC will be doing with our show(s) in among all the war coverage.
+ Uploaded Draft Transcript for "My Monster".
+ Corrected some Spanish in "My Old Lady" transcript. If you mouse over the Spanish parts, you'll even get the English translation in a tool tip box.
I hope to be able to do this for all the transcripts that feature Spanish. Since I don't know Spanish, to enlist help, I may be linking to sound files in some of those transcripts in future. (It's somewhat of a low priority right now.)
MAR.14.2003
*tap, tap* Is this thing on? Right. I _think_ we're back. The DNS for the server was moved someplace more reliable, so the chronic inaccessibility of the site should be cured. SHOULD BE. Time will tell.
If you want a site usage report for February, you're screwed. The logs were down over that month, too. Besides, I think the statistics would just depress me. So, let's move on and look ahead!
I haven't really updated much lately, as I've not been able to...and I'm now trying to remember _how_ to be the master of this domain. So far, I've just updated and tidied the small stuff -- music, news, etc. Expect more substantial updates in the coming days.
Thanks for your patience and loyalty, everybody! :)
Mar.03.2003
- Well, it's been a whole month since the server horrors began and, shock of all shocks, they continue! Lucky me! Lucky YOU!
+ Added "My Karma" draft transcript. Reindexed the PicoSearch to reflect a few of the more recent scripts.
+ A few days ago, I put the chat room back up (now linked under "Fun"...). Just when I thought it was dead, someone linked to it again. *shrug*
FEB.27.2003
+ The site was up for a while, so I felt inspired to do some sprucing up. I did what I promised -- Forums have been moved over to Links, and the new section "Fun" was added. Only a drinking game and the two trivia quizzes there at the moment, but I have some other stuff in the works to fill out that area soon.
+ Updated FAQs.
= Draft transcript for "My Karma" also coming very soon.
FEB.22.2003
+ Took advantage of my FTP server finally being up and added "My Brother, My Keeper" dialogue draft to Scripts.
+ Registered redirect URL http://my-fansite.cjb.net, just in case the worst should happen.
FEB.19.2003
- AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, site's been down, and then up, and then down, and then up, and then FTP went down but site was up, and then site was down and FTP was up. And my brain said, "Okay, bye-bye, I'll see you later."
The site is still highly unstable, but I appreciate those of you left (*crickets chirping*) hanging in there.
+ I'VE ADDED A NEW TRIVIA QUIZ! Aren'cha excited?
+ I think I figured out the music for "My Brother, My Keeper" and have changed the music list to reflect that.
- Speaking of "Brother, Keeper" I hope to have the DD transcript up soon....all I'm saying is "soon."
- Oh! I won an award. Yup. "Best Overall Scrubs Site".... I'll probably pop it up on the home page (it's already in "About"...but who reads that?).
FEB.06.2003
- Hello? Is anyone still out there? My server went down for about, what, 3 or 4 days....just one of those things, and nothing could be done but wait it out. I'm glad to be back, though I'm not as caught up as I'd hoped I'd be by the time I was able to upload stuff again.
New month, site usage update: "My Fansite's" popularity continues to build on itself. Over 13,500 unique visits in January....
+ UPDATES! FAQs. Scripts -- "My Philosophy" (just before the server down), "His Story".
- Will soon be migrating Forums into Links, and will devote its vacated slot to "Fun". A new trivia quiz will be added...a game or two...quotes...etc.
JAN.30.2003
- Things just go from bad to worse... Not only have I not caught up on the things I'd planned to this week -- transcripts, music, etc. -- but then my server went down ON SHOW NIGHT. Guh!
+ Nothing tonight other than a little tidying up of the News, and the regular ol' music stuff. Oh, and I added a couple of pics to Images. I hope to Aisha to be able to get something substantial up over the next couple days...and get to some of my e-mail.
...Does it help if I bat my lashes and say I'm sorry?
JAN.25.2003
- I want to apologize for the odd turn the site has taken over the past week or so. Now that my head has cleared, I've seen a bunch of mistakes that I have hopefully fixed up. Last week's music info is coming slowly, as what was played on the show was difficult to make out, and the song list on the scrubs-tv.com site is so inaccurate I could weep. I'm doing my best to make some sort of sense of it all.
- No real updates to report other than those minor fixes. I've temporarily changed the background graphic so no one forgets the super-sized ep next week.
I hope to catch up on transcripts this week.
JAN.22.2003
+ Okay.... Updated Links & Images. Updated FAQs. Updated Media.
+ DELETED the "hidden" code in the recent Guestbook entry that redirected to a porn site. This joke was only active for about a day...and I want to thank a friend of mine who is brave enough to have ActiveX turned on and happened to see it and alert me. Because of this, I have taken measures to disarm "clever code" in the Guestbook. If you try to post scripts, you will fail -- plain and simple. Apologies to any who may have experienced this...magical gift...before it was caught.
JAN.21.2003
* "Tomorrow! I swear!" HA! Have I mentioned that I specialize in pie-crust promises? Links, FAQs, and other various updates still coming, but...
+ Finally got "My New Old Friend" up. Apologies for the delay.
+ A few days ago, got a sound file of the closing number from "My Philosophy" up on the Music page.
+ Also, finally was able to get the info on Keren DeBerg linked next to her entries in the Music list.
JAN.16.2003
* "I just got so frustrated; plus I'm PMSing...well, not exactly -- the Pill plays major havoc with my cycle. I'm like, Waaagggghhhhhhh!!!!!!" So, okay, I'm not PMSing, either...but not because The Pill plays major havoc with my cycle. Simple site maintenance is enough to do it to ya. I have so many balls in the air: Links update, FAQ update, News update, another transcript or two, some old transcript tweaking -- all of this is in the works. Plus, I know a ton of you are owed e-mails, and I'm trying to get to them all as best I can. You guys are awesome, and your support is really appreciated...I just can't always express my thanks personally right away.
+ As for what I _have_ done...well, I added the Dialogue Draft Transcript for "My Sex Buddy". "My New Old Friend" probably would have been up today, but life and show night sorta got in the way. Tomorrow! I swear!
JAN.13.2003
+ Updated Music Section with a Season One addition (another Keren DeBerg background song). Info on Keren coming very soon.
+ Updated News with some non-newsish news.
* Thought there would be more updates today...was apparently wrong...feeling sleepy. A DD transcript (really, I swear, it's sitting right here) and some general sprucing up coming soon.
JAN.04.03
= Woo, LORDY! I hate modifying code!
+ In an effort to make the FAQ a little easier to navigate, I have inserted a JavaScript menu tree. Click on those little blue arrow icons next to the section links, and you'll get an expanded menu with links to all the points in the section. If you have JavaScript turned off, you will still see the little arrows, but they will not work for you. The section links work the same as always.
+ Updated the FAQ with some info on promo music.
+ Became an affiliate with AllPosters.com. You can find a link to purchase their 'Scrubs' poster in the Images section.
JAN.03.03
= Happy New Year! I hope 2003 is great for all. I hope I can manage to type in the correct date on all the pages. *grin*
Many apologies for lack of updates over the past two weeks...I'd like to say it was because I was busy with the holidays and family, etc., but the sad truth is I was stuck in bed for the past two weeks with a killer cold. I'm on the mend now, and hope to catch up with things quickly.
= New year, new month, site usage report time: December had the highest usage in the history of the site -- every statistic broke records: Over 10,000 unique visitors (the first time we've gone into quintuple digits there) accessing over 26,000 pages and generating over 287,000 hits. The popularity of the site has just about doubled from its first month. I gotta say, I'm impressed...though I know the huge leap in December can mostly be attributed to the Series One finale on the UK's Channel Four and the highly sought after song in "My Monster".
+ As for updates...I finally added the Dialogue Draft for "My Way or the Highway" to [scripts]; I was hoping to be more caught up than that over the Christmas break, but...you know. Music page was updated as usual.
= More transcripts and a FAQ update are next. Still waiting for some additional info on Keren DeBerg so I can publish that.
DEC.19.02
+ [media] -- added a few articles, including a really long, really informative one that was recently written about the show, and one tiny interview with Ken Jenkins. Nice to see him getting some spotlight.
+ Added the news of a charity auction featuring a 'Scrubs' walk-on role. The way the Dreamcatcher Foundation is promoting this event doesn't fill me with the utmost confidence -- use your best judgment. If I hear more positive things about the auction, I shall add the news to the FAQ as well.
* Info on how you can get your paws on some Keren DeBerg (artist heard in episodes 2.05 and 2.10) is coming soon to the Music section.
DEC.16.02
* I'm just buzzin' on a party high... Hope the holidays are treating everyone well! Things have been keeping me busy, so I've not had much time to do stuff here.
+ Only made some tiny updates -- the usual things: music & news -- as well as a minor update to the FAQ.
* Speaking of music, thought I'd share: Normal site visits after a new episode are around 500...but The Coral aroused some heavy interest -- over 900 people stopped in after "My Monster" to find out about their song.
The future holds...transcripts for "My Way or the Highway" and "My Monster".
DEC.08.02
+ [scripts] Uploaded the Dialogue Draft for 2.09 "My Lucky Day".
+ [scripts] Uploaded Drafts for 1.19 "My Old Man" and 1.23 "My Hero". Thanks to Hamilton for submitting these.
DEC.04.02
* Welcome to December! Hope the holidays are fulfilling for all.
New month -- site usage update: Despite my silent encouragement, November did not surpass October in total visitors. This is understandable, considering half the month had reruns. Still, it would have been fun had the pattern for building usage with each consecutive month continued. Especially since the race was so close -- October saw 8,780 visitors, while November nearly matched it with 8,566. In that 11th month, over 21,000 pages were served. Your top pick being "Scripts".
* Speaking of [scripts], I have been fitting in work on Dialogue Drafts for "My First Step" and "My Fruit Cups" -- I expect to upload them later today. (This has, indeed, been done.)
+ [forums] Due to a request on the scrubs-tv.com message board, I have set up a java chat room. This thing is SIMPLE, people. If you want fancy-schmancy, you're gonna have to look somewhere else. I went this way because I wanted something that would load and run fast, without using too many system resources. And I used a service, rather than an on-site script because I didn't know how much bandwidth of mine that would use. If you know of better services out there, I'd love to know about them. Anyway, enjoy!
* A note to those who have sent me e-mail over the past week or so -- I've been majorly busy with life or the site...and while I have read every message that has come in, responding to them has not yet been possible. I hope to get to that over the next couple of days, as well.
Thanks for your patience!
NOV.28.02
* Happy Thanksgiving, all! Even if you're not American, this is still a great opportunity to count your blessings. Even though in N. America we have no 'Scrubs' this week, we can still be thankful for a little shot of our gang in the Muppets Christmas movie on Friday!
+ [Media] Fixed a few broken links.
+ [News] Updated with current schedule for Zach Braff on Caroline Rhea.
NOV.26.02
+ [scripts] Added a search engine to this department to make finding specific scenes and quotes easier to find.
* Dialogue Draft for "My First Step" coming soon.
NOV.24.02
+ "My Big Mouth" Dialogue Draft uploaded.
NOV.23.02
* Long time, no update! When I did get around to sprucing the place up, I realized the latest news entry on the start page was posted in the future (??!!) -- it was a typo, and has been fixed.
* Dialogue Draft transcript for "My Big Mouth" is coming soon. I went away for a few days, but plan to use the next 'Scrubs'less week-and-a-half to do some serious catching up.
+ [Start Page] Archived some old news, added some new news, featured a couple of interesting new articles -- one about the complicated Nielsen ratings analyses, and one about Zach Braff's experience directing the music video for "Superman".
+ [Media] Added the same articles here, plus one praising JCMcG's work and how it really deserves that Emmy!
+ Added my location to the credit line at the bottom of the pages. Too many e-mails inquiring if I was from the UK. Nice place to visit, I'm sure, but for all its problems, Cali is my home....plus, it's closer to 'Scrubs'. :)
+ [Music] Fixed the "Mystery Song" sound clips. I can't figure out why they turn out garbled on the first upload...it always happens.
NOV.14.02
+ Added news of talk show appearances by Zach Braff and Sarah Chalke this month to the start page.
+ Uploaded Dialogue Drafts of transcripts for episodes 1.13 and 1.14 to [scripts].
+ Added some quotes from episodes 1.10, 1.11, 1.12, & 1.13 to the random quote generator.
- Hope to be able to catch up with the dialogue transcripts of some of S-2's episodes very soon.
NOV.08.02
- Wow. Long time, no news. Very little was updated over the past week or two, short of the news of the Super-Sized episode on the 7th (which I hope was effectively advertised via the temporary background images) and the regular music updates....
* New month means Site Usage Report (am I the only one who loves these?): October saw 8,780 visitors who accessed almost 23,000 pages. I'm amazed how the traffic for this site grows every month. Hooray for 'Scrubs' (and a little yay for me)!
+ Majorly updated [faqs].
OCT.29.02
+ Shocked to discover how grossly inaccurate the transcript for 1.15 was, I have corrected it. To reflect the changes, I have altered the random quotes for that episode, as well.
OCT.28.02
- I don't know what's wrong with me -- I keep forgetting to update the Episode poll. I'm due a stern talking-to for that: "Maybe you were running late that day 'cause you just couldn't find the right thong for those low-rider jeans that you love so much, or maybe you were busy bopping along to whatever boy band really makes your heart race nowadays, and you just drove on by. One thing's sure-shootin': You wound up at the dumb-dumb store and you just went ahead and put so much of that into the car that you could fit, didn't ya!"
+ Uploaded the Dialogue Draft for "My New Coat".
+ Uploaded clips of songs I don't know to [music]. Considering all the songs that have been featured, the fact that only 4 have stumped me isn't _too_ bad. I'd be willing to become the devoted love slave to whomever could tell me what those four songs are, though. *wink-wink*
OCT.23.02
+ From what I could tell, my server went sort of weird for a couple of days. I don't know if this was just a typical snafu or if it was somehow related to the DDOS attack on Monday, as I experienced problems with several other websites also. Anyhoo, according to my logs, a number of you were still able to connect -- thank goodness. Now that I'm able to, as well, more updates should be coming.
+ Added news of the "Super-Sized" episode on November 7th.
+ More dialogue draft transcripts coming soon.
OCT.20.02
+ Uploaded dialogue draft transcripts (which are turning out a lot better than I initially thought) for episodes 1.11 and 1.12. More to come very soon.
OCT.18.2002
+ [scripts] work today: Added the dialogue draft for 1.10 "My Nickname." And, thanks to Mike S. (I know I've e-mailed you, but I want to thank you again!), I fixed the confusing word in 1.15 -- all that mattered to Turk was his "COLECO-VISION and Sandi Lowe"!!!!
OCT.17.02
+ Updated [faqs] with character title correction & info on Sam Lloyd's Beatles cover band. Fixed a broken link.
+ Added Television Without Pity's little 'Scrubs' section of its message board to [forums].
+ Temporarily removed the link to talk show MP3s in [media]. I don't know if my page was deleted or what. When I find someplace else to put those files, I'll reinstate the section.
OCT.14.02
+ So...a week has passed. I don't feel like I've done much. I know I've tweaked things, but.....
+ By request (via the guestbook) I've created a 'Scrubs' Trivia Quiz. There's an animated .gif for that on the start page.
+ Feeling guilty about the time it's taking me to get the transcripts "perfect", I have uploaded dialogue drafts. The beauty of being the webMASTER is that, despite what the polls say, I get to make the final decision. For those who are not interested in the drafts, simply don't read them. For those who are interested, keep in mind they are rough drafts. I make no apologies for errors.
OCT.07.02
+ I've been tweaking stuff here and there, but there have been no major updates. None that I've really taken note of, anyhow.
+ The crossing into October means a usage report...they're always fun. I'd like to take personal credit for the fact that September site usage nearly doubled that of August -- more than 6,200 visitors in the 9th month, accessing over 16,000 pages -- but I've a feeling the spike actually has a little something to do with the new season. Y'think?
OCT.02/03.02
+ Fixed the damn random quote generator after updating it the other day. That's the second time it's happened, and I'm a little sick with myself. Grrr!
+ Fixed some dialogue in the transcript for Episode 1.05. Updated the random quotes to reflect the change. That must've been what I meant by "complete" versus...not.
+ Added some articles to [media].
+ Added EW.com's and TVguide.com's 'Scrubs' guides to [links] (considered having those in [media] but decided against it).
+ Included an article with full information about Ted the Lawyer and his Band to [faqs].
+ Closed the [scripts] and [music] polls at midnight, Pacific. I could not _believe_ how close the [music] poll was. With such a tight race, I wish there was a way to satisfy both camps. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate them.
Results:
[music] "Where would you like Season Two?" -- Total Votes = 61
At the top = 30
At the bottom = 31
[scripts] "I'm a little behind, so how would you like this?" -- Total votes = 55
Take your time, I want them perfect = 32
Fill it in later, but I need a fix now = 23
....Basically, it looks like things stay the same. I'm taking this as a sign that I'm doing something right. Yay, me!
OCT.01.02
+ Uploaded the transcript of the first episode of Season Two -- "My Overkill". I removed the "complete" tags that were attached to some episodes, simply because I couldn't remember what made some complete while others were not. *shrug*
+ Added 2.01 quotes to the generator.
SEP.30.02
+ Updated [faqs] to reflect the beginning of Season Two and its changes.
+ Fixed the track listing for the soundtrack -- "New Slang", not "New Slag"! ...That's what you get for copy+pasting without paying attention.
+ Will be adding new articles to [media] soon.
+ Episode 2.01 is almost completely transcribed. I hope to upload it either today or tomorrow.
+ I figure I'll close the [music] and [scripts] polls on Wednesday night/Thursday morning at Midnight, Pacific time. If you haven't voted yet, make sure you do!
+ Speaking of polls, I've sent the "Favorite Feature" question to the archives; not surprisingly, [music] and [scripts] are your most and second-most (respectively) favorite features. I'm glad the Music section is so well appreciated...I just sort of wish my biggest drawing card wasn't something so easily and widely copied!
The new poll asks your opinion of "My Overkill".
SEP.26.02
+ Added some polls to [music] and [scripts] (a couple of days ago, actually) asking about formatting and the publishing of drafts.
+ Uploaded Episode 1.08 to [scripts] -- I say, "YAY!" and you guys say, "What the hell took so long?" I hope to get episode 1.16 finished and uploaded very soon.... And then I'll have to get working on 2.01. Will fit in Season One where I can; but I don't want to fall behind on Season Two.
+ Added 1.08 quotes to the generator.
+ More fixes and updates to accommodate S-2 will come as soon as I find my bearings.
SEP.23.02
+ Updated all instances of Soundtrack info -- [music], [faqs], [news], etc. -- to reflect the ultimate track listing.
+ Updated [faqs] with awards info.
+ Added a poll to [music]
SEP.17.02
+ Made some minor adjustments to [faqs].
+ Added NBC's Media Village to [links]. My thanks to Alicia over at Y! Group NBCsScrubs for reminding me of its existence. Great photos available over there.
SEP.11.02
+ Tired of regarding [media] as a step-child because it's hosted on another server, I have moved the base of the department over to ob-n. The Talk Show interviews will still be held over at bravepages until I figure out if I want to move them, also. Will decide on that later.
+ Because [media] is now a little easier to update, I've added a couple of articles I found.
+ Added Guestbook links to all depts.
+ I'm, like, super wiped-out while doing this.... So if any pages aren't where they should be or any links are broken, we can blame it on that. Fixes will come in eventually unless someone e-mails me to complain. I have no problem with that. Only _you_ can prevent webmaster complacency!
SEP.07.02
+ Added some news that should excite a few people.
+ Added a guestbook -- link only on the start page so far. I'm not overly pleased with it, but it was my only choice as I can't seem to get any Perl scripts running on my server. May play with that a bit as time permits...or not.
+ Finally put the News Archive to good use.
+ FIXED the random quote generator after screwing it up during the last update. *sigh*
...I know, I know -- anything to avoid working on a transcript, right?
SEP.04.02
+ Added quotes from 1.15 "My Bed Banter & Beyond" to the random quote generator. I was surprised I had neglected to have them in there for so long.
+ Added another entry to [links].
+ More transcripts are coming, I promise! Y'all know how life can be, though, I'm sure! I've really appreciated the e-mails that have come in recently, praising what I do with the site, especially [scripts]. You provide the inspiration to keep the site growing!
SEP.03.02
+ September has arrived! That means only a few short weeks before the Soundtrack is released and Season Two begins!
+ Site use was up in August, with nearly 3,500 unique visitors accessing over 10,000 pages! Much thanks to Google for indexing me, as the majority of my traffic comes from their users.
+ Speaking of Google, the last poll revealed that it is your favorite Search Engine, with Yahoo! coming in second. As for Web Rings, most of you don't care either way, the second most popular opinion of them being affectionate. Because of this, I may be starting up a web ring (or finding one already in existence).
+ New month means the retiring of old polls and addition of new one(s). This month's question focuses on your favorite part of the site and what parts you'd like worked on the soonest.
+ Updates: Not many. I replaced the Scrubs-A-Thon graphic on the start page with one advertising the soundtrack. Added some News. Added a ton of [links] -- rather than just listing my favorites, I've put down all I know of, with personal opinions (some admittedly snarky).
AUG.18.02
+ Woo. My server went wonky for a few days, caused a little sweating over not being able to update. All's well, now, and I still love ya, G.
+ Updated [f.a.q.s] & [music] with new date of Soundtrack release. Also updated [f.a.q.s] with confirmation of the intro sequence changing slightly.
AUG.11.02
* Uploaded a clip of "My Tuscaloosa Heart" (the song) to [music].
* Finished and uploaded Episode 17 "My Student" to [scripts].
* Rearranged the "About" page.
AUG.10.02
+ Updated [faqs] with some info on the "set", some info on Season Two, and some non-info on the a cappella performances in "My Hero".
+ Updated [links] with Scrubs Sounds' new domain.
+ Episode 17 transcript is coming very, very soon. Just some final formatting needs done.
+ As proof that 17 is almost done, its quotes have been added to the random generator.
AUG.01.02
+ Welcome to August! I can't believe that the site got almost 3,000 unique visitors for the month of July, generating more than 112,000 hits! Probably helps that I was finally listed in Google... and you guys have been really good at promoting me. Thanks!
+ Speaking of Google and promoting, I've got two new rotating polls up: One asking how you feel about Web Rings, the other asking what your favorite search engine is. If I've not listed yours, feel free to e-mail me with it.
+ The new polls mean the retiring of the old one. I was surprised to see how many people think myself, polls, and guestbooks are stupid. And one person just plain hates the site. I don't think I'll include such ego-deflating options in future polls. Seeing how people are well divided about their feelings on Guestbooks, and a lot of people don't care either way, I won't bother myself with getting one put up awfully quick. Soon as I find something I'm happy with, I'll stick it in.
+ Added BreakTV to [links]. My thanks to Kimberly L. for bringing it to my attention.
+ Updated [f.a.q.s] with info on the song played during the 'Scrubs' ads on Channel 4 in the UK. Will also add that info to [music].
+ Fixed broken link to all Emmy nominees on the start page.
JUL.26.02
+ FINALLY! Episode 6 transcript is finished and uploaded!
+ I'm in the process of migrating my e-mail... so some mailto: links address to one place while others go to another. I'll get the message either way, but it may cause a little confusion until all links are changed.
+ I finally found the page for submitting a URL to Google's webcrawler, so hopefully I'll get indexed there soon, making finding me a little easier. The elusive Yahoo! Directory listing may prove harder. Tips welcome.
JUL.18.2002
* I nearly needed to check into Sacred Heart, myself! Some insect thought I'd be yummy, and snacked on my forehead. Much swelling and jumbling of brains followed. I think I'm better now...
* Added 27 sounds to [clips] -- all from Episode 1.
* Updated [media] & [images] with a couple additions.
JUL.10.02
* Updated the [f.a.q.s].
* Finally added some sounds to [clips] -- 25 from Episode 9! They are wavs that can be used as Windows Sound Events or personal enjoyment. They are compressed, so the download time and disk usage is minimal. Sound quality is not compromised. Editing of the files is a little tricky with this format, but if you wanted to be able to tweak them, well, you should have recorded your own. *grin*
JUL.05.02
* Hope all Americans had a happy Independence Day... Hope the Britons enjoyed celebrating having us out of their hair... And hope everyone else had a pleasant Thursday.
* Updated [images] with a few new pics; hopefully some you've never seen before.
* Fixed the sound clip of [music]'s unidentified rap song from "My 15 Minutes".
JUL.03.02
* I've added a little more JavaScript to the site (I couldn't help myself, I wanted a new toy): just some random quotes towards the foot of the pages. I tested it until my eyes glazed over, but I can't seem to iron out the occasional "undefined" result. Meanwhile, they don't seem to work at _all_ in NetScape. *shrug* ...Anyway, soon all major departments will have quotes. More lines will be added as I have time.
* Transcript for Ep 6 _is_ coming. Every time I try to get it finished, something -- or someone -- interrupts me. Thanks for being patient!
JUL.02.02
I had intended to put the occasional site update in the "news" section on the main page, but when I realized how many little tweaks and changes I was adding all the time, I decided to put my ramblings in a tucked away corner of the site, for those who are perverse enough to care what's going on inside my head. I warn you -- it's scary in there.
